🌸 Hello Spring! 🌸

Spring is officially here, bringing longer days, warmer weather and plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the sunshine. ☀️🌷

We want to know — what’s your favourite thing about spring?

Is it the warmer days, flowers blooming, getting outdoors more, spring gardening, or something else entirely? 💐🌼🌿

R U OK? Day is coming up on Thursday 10 September — but you don't need to wait for a particular day to check in with someone.

If someone you know seems different, quieter, overwhelmed, withdrawn or simply not themselves, trust your instincts and start a conversation.

You don't need to have all the answers. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is notice, ask, and genuinely listen.

💛 Ask R U OK? — any day.

We’re growing our team and looking for compassionate, caring and reliable people to join Inspire Inclusion as casual Support Workers.

Experience is valued, but it isn’t essential. For us, compassion, care and character matter more than experience. We’re looking for people who are empathetic, patient, dependable and genuinely committed to supporting people with dignity, respect and choice.

This role may suit someone who:
* Has flexible availability across different days and times
* Is looking for a range of casual shifts rather than full-time or guaranteed regular hours
* Is happy to help with backup cover when team members are unwell or unavailable
* Brings a warm, respectful and person-centred approach to support

Whether you already have experience in disability support or think your values and personality could make you a great Support Worker, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email your resume **and a little about yourself** to [email protected]

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTY! 🎂🥳

Today we're celebrating the woman behind so much of what makes Inspire Inclusion what it is.

Kristy puts an incredible amount of heart into everything she does — from supporting our participants and their families, to looking after our team, solving approximately 400 problems at once, and somehow keeping everything moving in the right direction! 😂

Her passion for creating genuinely person-centred supports and making a difference in people's lives is at the heart of Inspire Inclusion, and we are very lucky to have her.

And in true Kristy fashion, she's spending her birthday doing what she does best — out supporting participants! 💜

Please join us in wishing Kristy a very Happy Birthday! We hope there is plenty of cake, laughter and birthday spoiling squeezed in somewhere along the way! 🎂🥳

Happy Birthday Kristy, from all of us at Inspire Inclusion! 💜

Some people simply make the world a little better by being in it, and that's exactly who Kristy is.

Every day, she goes above and beyond for our participants, their families and our team. She is the first to put others before herself, the last to ask for anything in return, and genuinely cares about making a positive difference in people's lives.

To our participants and their families, she's someone who listens, advocates and never stops looking for ways to help. To our staff, she's more than a boss—she's a supportive leader who encourages, believes in people, celebrates their successes and is always there when someone needs a hand.

Running a support service isn't always easy, and so much of what Kristy does happens quietly behind the scenes. Long hours, difficult decisions and countless sacrifices are all made with one goal in mind: providing the very best support for the people who trust us.

We know how lucky we are to have someone who leads with compassion, integrity and genuine care.

Our staff, our participants and their families are incredibly fortunate to have you, Kristy. Thank you for everything you do—you are appreciated more than words can say!

🌟 Welcome Shay-lee! 🌟

We're excited to introduce Shay-lee, one of our incredible Support Workers here at Inspire Inclusion!

Shay-lee is passionate about making a genuine difference in people's everyday lives by building meaningful relationships, supporting participants to achieve their goals, and encouraging independence every step of the way.

Here's what Shay-lee loves most about support work:

"I love support work because it gives me the opportunity to make a positive difference in people's everyday lives. I enjoy building relationships with the people I support, helping them achieve their goals, and encouraging their independence. Being part of someone's journey and seeing their progress is what makes support work so rewarding to me."

We're so lucky to have Shay-lee as part of the Inspire Inclusion team, and we know she'll continue making a positive impact on the lives of the people she supports.

Give Shay-lee a warm welcome in the comments!

Anyone else struggling with all the proposed NDIS changes and/or operating a small business?

I’m not one to post about my struggles but I feel the stigma and ugly truth about owning a small business needs to be spoken about.

Running an NDIS business with the constant changes is starting to break me.

Behind the smiling photos and the proud milestones we share, the reality of running an NDIS business with integrity is not only suffocating, but also isolating.

There is this stereotype driven by the media that NDIS owners are “wealthy”.. The media paints a picture of luxury. The reality is an absolute grind!!!!

- Squeezed Margins: Strict price caps mean rising inflation, compliance costs, and wages eat up every dollar.
- Payroll Roulette: Staff get paid on time, every single time. But while we wait weeks for unpaid invoices to clear, owners play financial Tetris to fund payroll.
- The 60-Hour Week: Most of us aren't getting rich. We are exhausting ourselves and pouring personal savings back into the business just to keep the doors open.

Please don't let a few sensationalised headlines define those of us who are drowning just to do the right thing by our participants!

The weight of trying to keep this business afloat has become too heavy to carry alone. Every single day is a battle against things that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual care we provide… but rather:

- Uncertainty around our current business model and with the ever changing legislations, how do we adapt?
- Chasing constant unpaid invoices just to try and cover payroll, while the financial stress keeps me awake every single night.
- Suffocating administrative fatigue from endless, compliance documentation that never seems to end.
- The endless cycle of staffing struggles, trying to recruit people that share my morals, values and compassion for others, as well as trying to support a team when the industry itself is so burnt out.

The systemic pressure is relentless!

I started this business to make a genuine difference in people's lives, but lately, the system feels designed to drain every drop of energy, passion, and resource I have left.

** I want to reassure our current participants and families: my dedication to you hasn't changed, and your services and supports remain completely secure.
I acknowledge and sincerely apologise for not reaching out as much as I usually would. I cannot pour from an empty cup anymore, and right now, my cup is completely dry.
I work relentlessly coordinating everything behind the scenes.

To the other providers out there drowning in silence: I see you. I am right there with you. I don't have an inspiring takeaway or a positive spin for today.

I'm just incredibly tired. - Kristy
