I stopped taking everything personally when I realised most people are too busy thinking about themselves.
That look they gave you?
Probably not about you.
That text they didn't reply to?
Probably not a secret message about how they feel about you.
That person who seemed off?
They could be dealing with something you know absolutely nothing about.
And that comment that sent you into a spiral?
It might have said far more about them than it ever did about you.
We can spend so much time analysing other people's behaviour.
“What did I do?”
“Are they upset with me?”
“Did I say something wrong?”
“Do they like me?”
“Why didn't they invite me?”
Meanwhile, they're probably at home wondering why THEY said something awkward three hours ago. 😂
The truth is, most people are living inside their own story.
They're thinking about their problems, their insecurities, their relationships, their to-do lists, their own version of what happened.
You don't have to make every behaviour, silence or opinion about you.
And when you stop personalising everything, something beautiful happens.
You get your energy back.
You stop over-explaining.
You stop people-pleasing.
You stop trying to manage everyone's perception of you.
And you become much more comfortable being yourself.
Not everyone will understand you.
Not everyone will like you.
Not everyone will agree with you.
And that's okay.
Your job isn't to control what other people think of you.
Your job is to know who you are.
If you find yourself constantly overthinking other people's reactions, worrying about being liked or questioning yourself after every interaction, this is exactly the kind of pattern we can work through in coaching.
You don't need to spend the rest of your life living in everyone else's heads.
Let's get you back into your own. 💛
