The Romanian Deadlift (RDL) is one of the best exercises for building strength through your posterior chain, which is your glutes, hamstrings, and lower back. 💪
But remember, it’s not about how low you can go, it’s about how well you can control the movement.
✅ Keep a slight bend in your knees.
✅ Hinge at your hips by pushing them backwards.
✅ Keep your spine neutral and your chest proud.
✅ Keep the weight close to your legs throughout the movement.
✅ Only lower as far as you can while maintaining good technique.
The RDL isn’t just a gym exercise, it can be an excellent rehabilitation tool when prescribed appropriately. It helps improve hip hinge mechanics, develop hamstring and glute strength, and build confidence with lifting movements that transfer into everyday life.
Quality movement always comes before heavier weight. Master the technique first, then progressively overload as your strength improves.
Save this post for your next lower-body session and share it with someone working on their strength! 👊
