July is Disability Pride Month ๐Ÿ’š
at headspace , we recognise disability as a powerful and valued part of human diversity. Disability is the largest minority group in the world. It is diverse, visible and invisible, and a core part of many peopleโ€™s identity and community.

This month is a time to
โœจ celebrate disability identity, culture, and community
โœจ recognise the strength, creativity and contributions of disabled people
โœจ challenge stigma and ableism
โœจ push for a world that is accessible by design, not by exception

The Disability Pride flag reflects this diversity
โค๏ธ red = physical disability
๐Ÿ’› gold = neurodivergence
๐Ÿค white = nonvisible and undiagnosed disability
๐Ÿ’™ blue = psychiatric disability
๐Ÿ’š green = sensory disability
๐Ÿ–ค black = the background recognises loss, resistance, and ongoing fight against ableism
โ†˜๏ธ The diagonal line represents breaking barriers and moving forward together

Disability is not something to โ€œovercomeโ€ or hide. it is something people live with, shape their lives around, and take pride in.

Image Description: A digital graphic for Disability Pride Month. Large black text at the top centre reads, "July is Disability Pride Month". At the top left, two people are seated on a train station bench beneath a sign reading "Platform 1". One person is holding a white cane. At the top right, a person is using a wheelchair.
Across the centre of the image, diagonal stripes in muted red, gold, white, blue and green run across a charcoal background, representing the Disability Pride flag.
At the bottom left, the word "HELLO" appears above a person raising a hand in greeting. At the bottom right, a person is walking with a guide dog. The graphic highlights the diversity of the disability community and includes representations of wheelchair users, blindness and low vision, guide dog users, public transport accessibility and communication through sign language.
