Recently, we celebrated a remarkable group of staff who reached their 5- and 10-year milestones with At Home Care. From nurses and support workers out in the community to those behind the scenes every day, we celebrated them all.

The event was a wonderful acknowledgment of their dedication and compassion, recognising the outstanding individuals committed to making a positive difference.

Outstanding Olivia ✨🤩

🌟Meet 2026 Little Telethon Star Olivia! 🌟

Fundraising superstar. Taylor Swift fan. Big-hearted little legend.

Seven-year-old Olivia is kind-hearted, determined and always looking for ways to help others. She loves spending time with her friends, listening to Taylor Swift and, perhaps most importantly, making a difference to the people around her.

Olivia lives with Collagen VI-related Myopathy, a rare genetic condition affecting every muscle in her body. But she has never let her challenges stop her from reaching for what many thought might not be possible. After years of physiotherapy and incredible determination, Olivia can now stand and walk short distances on her own.

She’s also a fundraising superstar, passionate about helping other kids and giving back to the organisations that have supported her along the way.

Now, Olivia is ready to bring her kindness, courage and generous spirit to Telethon as a 2026 Little Telethon Star. 🫶

Amazing Aiden 💪😎

Meet Aiden, a passionate footy fan, proud Team Manager and all-round superstar. 🎤

Born at just 31 weeks, Aiden spent the first 14 months of his life in hospital. Today, he lives with an extremely rare genetic condition called Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS), which means his brain doesn’t always tell his body to breathe, particularly when he’s asleep. He relies on a ventilator and a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, carers and family to help him live his life.

But Aiden is so much more than his diagnosis.

He loves school, is a passionate AFL fan and proudly takes on the role of Team Manager for his team. With his infectious smile and love of singing, Aiden has a way of lighting up every room he walks into and can always be counted on to turn any day into the “best day of his life”.

Aiden can’t wait to share his smile with WA. We know you’re going to love him!

This month, we celebrate the anniversary of the first ventilated client leaving the WA State Spinal Unit to live in the community. Dee, Head of Nursing and Client Experience for At Home Care, remembers how meaningful this moment was when she experienced it with Ric.

"I feel incredibly proud that 2026 will mark 25 years since the first ventilated client left the State Spinal Unit to live in the community. That groundbreaking moment opened the door for many others to spend more time with their families and friends, instead of being defined by their medical needs or living in an institution.

Since joining AHC a decade ago, I have seen how the organisation has built and strengthened its expertise in caring for ventilated clients across WA and Australia. Seeing the positive difference AHC makes through this specialised care fills me with pride. It is a testament to the dedication, skill, and commitment of our teams and the difference they make in people's lives every day."
