Today, we celebrate and honour the incredible impact that nurses have within At Home Care and the community. They are the key to nursing-led care, clinical oversight, care delivery, and education.
Nurses are invaluable in our service model. They provide essential clinical oversight that forms the backbone of our service delivery, whether delivering care in the community or working behind the scenes.

International Nurses Day is an annual celebration, and the theme for 2026 is "Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives
Every day, nurses both save and improve lives, and their impact is greatest when they are properly empowered. At a moment of extraordinary global pressure, this year’s IND theme focuses on making the structural changes needed to harness the power of the nursing workforce."

Every day, safety’s the way, especially when it comes to lithium battery use at home and at work.

With more fires sparked by lithium batteries in e-bikes, e-scooters, and other rechargeable gadgets, safety warnings are sounding louder than ever.

Key Points
🔵Lithium-ion batteries can be very flammable. If they’re not manufactured, handled, stored, or disposed of correctly, they can catch fire, explode, or vent toxic gas.
🔵People with disabilities are at greater risk when fires occur in their homes..

His “forever home” hasn’t just put a roof over his head—it has given him his life back.

No truer words illustrate the very special story of Tom and Arthur, who recently left the structured walls of aged care and embraced the warmth and freedom of their own SDA home.

For over a decade, Tom and Arthur called aged care facilities home simply because they had no other choice. Although these places provided care, they were meant for older people. As younger adults, Tom and Arthur struggled with limited independence, fewer chances to connect with peers, and routines that did not fit their stage of life.
