We've got a spot open in a gorgeous 4-bedroom house in Sutherland for one female participant.

Sun-filled rooms, a tree-lined street, and a leafy green neighbourhood that feels like somewhere you'd want to come home to. You'd be sharing with one other female participant who's already settled in nicely. πŸ₯°

Sutherland Station is just 1km away, so getting around is easy. If this sounds like the right fit, reach out to Ethan Humphries or Junaed Raza to find out more.

Spring has officially arrived in Sydney!!! (finally.) 🌼πŸͺ»πŸŒ±

Here are our participants doing what everyone should be doing more of, walking, breathing fresh air, and just... being in nature. (Yes, the birds showed up too. Unbothered as always.)

But getting outside isn't just a nice-to-have. Science backs it up hard. 5 things being in nature does for your mental health 🧠

1) Lowers cortisol (your stress hormone) β€” even 20 minutes outside can bring it down noticeably

2) Boosts your mood β€” natural light triggers serotonin production. It's basically free therapy

3) Quiets the mental chatter β€” nature pulls your attention outward, which gives your brain a genuine rest

4) Improves sleep β€” daylight exposure during the day helps regulate your body clock at night

5) Reduces feelings of loneliness β€” being part of something bigger (even just a park) shifts perspective

This isn't just for our participants. It's for all of us. If you haven't been outside today, this is your sign. 🌿

Everyone's blaming immigrants for NDIS fraud…

Let's talk about that. Because yes, NDIS fraud is real and it needs to be called out. But the "usual suspects" narrative in the comment section? That's not accountability. That's stereotyping with a news story attached.

There’s good and bad in every community. In every industry. In every country. In every human.

But multiculturalism isn't a problem in this country. It's what helped build this country. It's in our food, our sport, our neighbourhoods, our workplaces, and yes, our care sector too.

We only seem to talk about it when something goes wrong. But what about the thousands of immigrant workers, founders and providers who show up every single day and get it right? That story deserves to be told too.

Can you guess what JJ baked from scratch yesterday?

Nobody talks about support workers enough...

It's not a glamorous job. The hours are long, the work is physically and emotionally demanding, and most of the time it goes unrecognised.

But ask any participant what actually makes a difference in their life, and it's rarely a system or a policy. It's the person who shows up. Consistently. Who knows how they take their tea. Who celebrates the small wins like they're the big ones.

At Dream Maker, we're proud to have people who chose this work not because it's easy, but because it means something.

To every support worker doing the hard, quiet, important work every day β€” we see you. You are appreciated πŸ’œ

An NDIS participant was allegedly held by his provider for 16 months.
16 months. To exit a service agreement.

Choice and control is meant to be a given in the NDIS. Shane's story shows how fast that can disappear, and how hard it is to get back.

The NDIS bill just passed overnight, and 160,000 participants could be cut from the scheme by 2030.

From 2028, NDIS eligibility will no longer be based on diagnosis alone. A new functional capacity assessment will determine who qualifies, and the government's target is to reduce participants from 760,000 down to 600,000.

If you're an NDIS participant, a carer, or a support coordinator, this affects you. We want to know how you're feeling. Drop your thoughts in the comments

AI can never replace the person who remembers how you take your coffee β˜•οΈ
Who notices when you're having a hard day.
Who sits with you, not just "for" you.

But it can handle the admin. The reminders. The notes.

The nitty gritty stuff that used to eat into the time we had with our participants. And when that weight lifts? Our team leaders get to show up the way they were always meant to, fully present, fully focused on the person in front of them.

That's person-centred support. Not just a value we talk about. Something we actually protect. πŸ’Ÿ

πŸ’¬ If you work in the NDIS or disability sector, does this hit home for you? Drop a comment below. We want to hear what you think.

Cheesecake is on the menu. 🍰

Watch our participant absolutely nail it, and know that while she's baking, something incredible is happening in her brain 🧠

10 ways cooking is good for you that you probably never thought of:

1️⃣ It rewires your brain. Following a recipe builds new neural pathways every single time.

2️⃣ It's actually a maths class. Measuring, halving, doubling β€” your brain is calculating without even realising.

3️⃣ It trains patience. Waiting for a cheesecake to set teaches delayed gratification better than any therapy session.

4️⃣ It's mindfulness without the meditation app. When you're focused on texture, smell and timing β€” you're fully present.

5️⃣ It builds sequencing skills. What comes first, what comes next β€” that's executive function being exercised in real time.

6️⃣ Smell triggers memory and emotion. The scent of something baking is one of the most powerful mood regulators we have.

7️⃣ It builds genuine confidence. You made something from nothing. That feeling doesn't lie.

8️⃣ It develops fine motor skills β€” cracking eggs, stirring, pouring β€” small movements, big benefits.

9️⃣ It creates connection. Cooking for someone is one of the oldest forms of love.

1️⃣0️⃣ It proves capability. Not to anyone else. To yourself.

At Dream Maker, we create spaces where our participants get to discover exactly what they're capable of. Every single day.
