From spoken words and signs to gestures, facial expressions, pictures, symbols and AAC, every way of communicating can help us connect, make choices, share what matters and take part in everyday life. 🌈

At Lime Rainbow, we’re proud to celebrate our Speech Pathologists and the important work they do to support people to communicate in ways that work for them.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 💚

Meet Sarah, one of our Therapy Specialists at Lime Rainbow.

Sarah is a compassionate and experienced Therapy Specialist with a strong background in therapeutic casework, family preservation, disability support, mental health and residential care.

She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Psychology, giving her a strong understanding of mental health, neurodevelopment, cognition, behaviour and psychological wellbeing.

Sarah has supported children, young people, adults and families with complex emotional, behavioural and psychosocial needs. Her experience includes therapeutic casework, collaborative care planning, advocacy, psychoeducation, trauma-informed interventions, and strengthening family and community support networks.

She has also held clinical leadership roles in disability residential services, providing trauma-informed guidance, supporting risk management, improving documentation, overseeing incidents and helping teams reduce restrictive practices.

As a former Social Care Team Leader and Keyworker, Sarah has worked closely with families, social workers, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical support plans.

Known for her calm and collaborative approach, Sarah is committed to helping people feel heard, respected and supported, while building confidence, emotional regulation, stability and meaningful relationships.

We’re glad to have Sarah as part of the Lime Rainbow team. 🌈

A Message to Our Community: The NDIS Bill Has Passed

The NDIS Amendment Bill has officially passed Parliament. Labor, the Liberals, and One Nation have united to push through some of the most severe cuts to disability infrastructure this century.

At Lime Rainbow, we are devastated, and we are angry. For our participants, families, and staff, these are not abstract spreadsheet figures. These cuts threaten the essential therapies, equipment, and frontline carers that people rely on every single day to live independently and participate in their communities. It is a profound betrayal by a government that chose to balance its budget on the backs of disabled Australians rather than taxing wealthy corporations and gas companies.

To every family and participant feeling scared about what comes next: Lime Rainbow is not going anywhere. We see your pain, we share your fury, and we refuse to accept the narrative that disabled people are a financial burden.Our team is exhausted and disappointed today. We will navigate these bureaucratic changes together, we will fight for your rights on the ground, and we will continue to provide the unwavering, high-quality support you deserve. We stand with you, always.

While we are settling in for the end of our work week, Tyler and Eisha are getting started for their week working away in one of Australia's most remote locations. Stopover in Coober Pedy for the night and some underground life on their way to the APY Lands in Remote SA to work with community members who have limited access to services such as ours.
Part of Lime Rainbow's core values is for ALL people with disability to have access to services where possible. These are some of our most vulnerable people who sometimes do not even get onto schemes such as the NDIS due to lack of available services in their community - and even if they are accepted, access to any services can be hard to maintain and inconsistent at best.
Some of these communities are 6 hours or more from a 'major' service area such as Alice Springs.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝗲 💚

Meet Yoe, one of our Behaviour Support Practitioners at Lime Rainbow.

Yoe brings more than 13 years of experience across disability support, counselling, education support and family advocacy. Much of her professional background has been developed within special school settings, where she has supported people with complex disabilities, behaviours of concern, communication and sensory needs, and emotional regulation challenges.

She has practical experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans, Individual Education Plans and healthcare plans, as well as documenting ABC data, frequency counts, incident reports, progress notes, communication records and long-term behavioural observations to help identify patterns, triggers and protective factors.

Yoe’s approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, culturally safe, strengths-based and grounded in human rights and least-restrictive practice. She also brings experience in crisis support, de-escalation, sensory regulation, transition planning, communication strategies and social development.

As a long-term carer and advocate, Yoe understands the realities families face when navigating the NDIS, education systems, therapy teams and everyday support needs.

She is committed to helping individuals feel safe, understood, confident and supported, with practical strategies tailored to their everyday lives. 💚
