Today, on National Sorry Day, we acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations survivors, their families, and communities.

It’s a day to reflect on the lasting impacts of forced child removal policies, listen to First Nations voices, and commit to truth-telling, healing, and meaningful action. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

This year’s theme, From Sorry to Action, reminds us that words alone are not enough β€” ongoing change, accountability, and support matter.

⚠️ Contents Advisory: This workshop discusses coercive control, domestic and family violence, and sensitive safeguarding topics which may be triggering. ⚠️

We’re proud to be hosting an important Coercive Control & Disability workshop alongside My Plan Manager, supporting the work of Hannah’s Story - Small Steps 4 Hannah

This workshop will strengthen understanding of coercive control and its relevance to NDIS safeguarding, duty of care, and early intervention responsibilities.

Key focus areas include:
β€’ How coercive control presents in disability and NDIS contexts
β€’ Risks related to dependency, capacity, and support relationships
β€’ Early indicators within support coordination and service delivery
β€’ Practical, trauma-informed responses aligned with safeguarding obligations

The session is facilitated by Michael Jeh, violence-prevention advocate and educator, and incorporates Hannah’s Story, reinforcing why early identification of coercive control matters.
