And somewhere between feeding schedules, appointments, laundry, work, healing, and caring for everyone else… many mothers forget they matter too.

Rest is important.
Support is important.
Asking for help is important.

You are not failing for needing support.

This Maternal Mental Health Month, let this be your reminder that caring for mothers is just as important as caring for babies 🤍

There is something so special about giving parents practical tools they can confidently use every day. A parent’s touch is powerful, and sometimes the simplest techniques can make the biggest difference.

Here, I had the privilege of teaching these beautiful first time parents to a 6 week old baby, massage techniques they can use to soothe, comfort and connect with their baby.

In this part of the session they are learning and practising an abdomen massage technique which helps with constipation, wind, colic and reflux.

I love being able to equip parents with simple, evidence-informed tools that support both their baby’s wellbeing and their own confidence.

So this is a gentle reminder that you don’t need to have all the answers as a new parent. Sometimes all you need is the right guidance and a little confidence. 🤍

Maternal Mental Health Month 🤍

This month, we’re opening up the conversation around maternal mental health.

Because while motherhood is beautiful… it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, exhausting, and emotionally heavy at times.

Many mums silently struggle with:
• Anxiety
• Birth trauma
• Postpartum overwhelm
• Identity changes
• Sleep deprivation
• Feeling “not like themselves”

And often, they continue showing up for everyone else while carrying so much internally.

As healthcare and wellness professionals, we believe support for mothers should go far beyond physical recovery.

Mums deserve to feel:

In my work with women, I often see how much is left out of postnatal care after a C-section, especially when it comes to the scar.

Your scar is not just skin deep. It connects to layers of fascia, muscles, and even the nervous system. When we support it properly, we support your whole body.
