Eating real food is my passion.

It is not more expensive to eat healthy. When you take the time to eat real Whole Foods you become better satiated therefore having less cravings & need for snacking.

Taking the time to prepare & eat real foods has a massive impact on our health long term & the health & behavior of our kids.

Ultra processed foods are not good food choices. This episode of 7 News Spotlight is worth watching.

As you wade through all the food noise & latest food fads & “maxxing” just remember that how you start your day shapes how your days eating will go.

If you start with a quick & easy sweet breakfast, you’ll likely metabolize it quickly & be hungry again.

If you take a few minutes to plan your meals, you can bake a loaf of wholefood bread & enjoy many different toppings that will give you longer lasting energy while keeping you fuller for longer.

For me today it is scrambled tofu on some of my nut & seed bread.

I baked the bread on the weekend (simply measure the ingredients, mix & bake), & once cooled i sliced it & put it in the freezer.

This delivered an amazing dose of fibre, omegas, protein & gut friendly elements, & so much more.

If you’re watching your weight or having a low activity day, you can reduce it to 1 slice & be perfectly full!

What else would you top it with?
Let me know if you want the recipe.

We spend years building a life we hope to enjoy later.

So we work longer.
Sit longer.
Eat in a hurry.
Sleep a little less.

We tell ourselves it’s temporary.

When things settle down.
When I earn a little more.
When I finally have time.

But the body keeps its own accounts.

And sometimes, the money we spent years earning is eventually spent trying to recover the health we traded for it.

Build your career.
Build your future.
But don’t forget to build a body that can enjoy it.

Health is part of the wealth.

Little by little, we can lose strength, balance, mobility, and confidence when we stop using them. So, train for the life you still want.

Ultra processed foods certainly are an easy way to hit the spot when in need of a snack but…. Rarely do they give you a healthy snack.

Simple snacks suck as rice cakes with avocado & tomato offer so much more and at a fraction of the cost.

Yes rice cakes are a processed food, however these ones are made from just organic rice, water & sea salt.

When topped with avo & tomato, they provide a highly nutritious, well balanced meal/snack.

1/4 avo across 3 rice cakes is only about 8g mono saturated fats which is a heart healthy fat.

You will get about 7g fibre, which is beneficial for digestion, gut health, satiety & stable blood sugar.

It’s full of vitamin C, vitamin E & lycopene - these are amazing for your immune system & skin health.

The verdict…. The perfect snack or light meal at any time of the day!

"No one goes viral because they walked every day for ten years. No one becomes famous because they lifted weights three times a week for thirty years. No one shares a reel of someone eating balanced meals, getting enough sleep, and repeating those habits week after week"

You walked today not because you suddenly felt motivated, but because walking is simply what you do. You walked yesterday. You'll probably walk tomorrow. It's part of your life now.

You lifted weights this week, just as you did last week and the week before. There was no dramatic personal record or viral workout. When the weights became easier, you added a little more. Not because you were chasing perfection, but because that's how progress quietly happens.

You went to bed at a reasonable hour. You ate mostly real food. You cooked more often than you ordered takeout. You didn't start another restrictive diet on Monday because you never abandoned a sustainable way of eating on Friday.

None of it was exciting.
It was simply... consistent.

For years, you've been doing the same simple things over and over again. You'll keep doing them long after today's trending biohack has been replaced by tomorrow's miracle protocol, promoted by someone young enough to have never experienced the realities of aging.

The basics never go out of style.

Some days, you won't have your best workout. You may even sit in your car outside the gym wondering if you should skip it altogether. But then you walk inside anyway because that's who you are.

The fitness industry rarely celebrates this because consistency doesn't make for exciting headlines. Intensity photographs well. Extreme transformations generate clicks. Six-week challenges, "all-or-nothing" programs, and impossible workouts fill social media feeds because they capture attention.

No one goes viral because they walked every day for ten years. No one becomes famous because they lifted weights three times a week for thirty years. No one shares a reel of someone eating balanced meals, getting enough sleep, and repeating those habits week after week.

Consistency is a practice....
It's choosing to be the same person on an ordinary Tuesday that you are on January 1st. It means you don't need to keep starting over because you never truly stopped. You have built a way of living that doesn't depend on motivation, guilt, or the latest trend.

One of the most damaging ideas in modern health and fitness isn’t that people should train harder.
It’s the belief that they should train less because their bodies are fragile.

Most bodies aren’t fragile by design. They become fragile when they’re under-used, over-protected, and never exposed to the challenges they evolved to handle. When we remove load, impact, and balance demands entirely, tissues don’t stay the same they adapt downward.

Muscle weakens.
Bone thins.
Tendons lose tolerance.
Confidence erodes.

This doesn’t mean everyone should push harder or ignore pain. It means we should train smarter applying the right amount of stress, at the right time, in the right way.

Protecting people from movement doesn’t preserve them.
It quietly limits them.

The goal of exercise especially as we age isn’t performance.
It’s capacity.
The ability to live independently, recover from setbacks, and engage fully with life.

Our bodies aren’t made of glass.
They’re made to adapt when we let them.

21/07/2026

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been inactive for years. The body never “forgets” how to adapt; it just needs a reason to start again.

Small, consistent challenges a few strength exercises, purposeful walking, or balance practice are enough to send the message: I still need you. Stay capable.

Age is not a barrier.
