Natural Medicine Week begins today!
One aspect of natural medicine that is most appealing to me is enabling people to maintain their own health. Herbal teas are a safe and effective way of doing this.

Introducing NamasTe ~
Naturopathically formulated by Emma Chapman-Sharp from these herbal teas are for body, mind and soul.

Why is tea drinking so good for you aside from the medicinal properties of these herbal formulations?
~ the ritual of making a cup of tea is relaxing
~ whether drinking on your own or with another this is a moment to just be; reflect and tune into yourself
~ hormonal regulation occurs when women sit together

It's the opposite of a fast paced pill popping uncertain world!

We also have green tea, spicy chai, Daintree black tea and earl grey.

NamasTe 🙏🏻

Teaming up with Emma has meant my dream of having a herbal tea range has become a reality!

🫖The truth is I first conceptualized this tea range 20 years ago! This is when the name NamasTe was inspired, with medicinal herbal teas such as...
DigesTe for digestion
TranquiliTe for relaxation
SereniTe for a gentle lift in energy

Achieving goals can be slow.
It can feel that "Life gets in the way" and there are many barriers. But sometimes they just happen when the time is right.✨

Thanks Em for your beautiful formulations.
Thanks for your help with packaging.
Thanks for your endless support.

Today we formally launch No OTs, No NDIS, a national campaign powered by OTs from across Australia.

For nearly a decade, occupational therapists have delivered essential supports under pricing and workforce settings that have undermined participant outcomes and increased pressure on families, communities and our broader support systems. OTs have done everything they can to keep participants safe and supported, even as the system made it harder.

For years, OTA has stood beside its members, pushing back against NDIS workforce conditions that have continued to undermine our safe, essential practice.

Last year, more than 16,000 community members, allied health professionals and OTA members wrote to the Minister for NDIS in response to the seventh year price freeze. Despite this advocacy, in the first five months of 2026 alone, the Government has announced a suite of major reforms to the NDIS, including changes to assessors, assessment pathways, tools, framework planning, and price differentiation. Today, proposed budget cuts have been revealed of 10% to capacity building supports and 50% for social, civic and community participation supports.

Each of these reforms and these unconscionable cuts will significantly impact on the occupational therapy workforce and the ability of participants to live independent, and meaningful lives. Restricting participant access to essential services undermines the scheme’s ability to deliver on its core purpose.

In response, today we formally launch our No OTs, No NDIS campaign, a national movement calling on the NDIA and the Federal Government to protect participant access to essential occupational therapy services and develop a sustainable workforce model that ensures people with disability can continue to receive the supports they rely on. That includes:
✔️ fair travel reimbursement,
✔️ a national allied health workforce pricing strategy,
✔️ reversing cuts to capacity building and social, civic and community participation supports, and
✔️ operational reforms that support safe, consistent practice.

This is our moment to speak with one voice, loudly and with purpose. In the coming weeks, we will share opportunities for you to get involved, amplify the campaign and make your voice heard.

Sign up to the campaign now and help drive the change our workforce needs. No OTs, No NDIS: https://bit.ly/4uMAyQu

Presence is the here and now and is the only moment that truly matters. Being present is the path to happiness, health, recovery from pain and living a good life.
But the reality is that it's very very hard to be present every moment of the day.

We can practice being present, like in meditation or when are fully engaged with what we are doing.

Or we can experience it in nature. Feeling this boab tree in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens was like connecting into a never ending still point of pure presence. Dropping into this space is an inkling of feeling connected with the the unified field.

Happy Earth Day

Super happy with my poster presentation at the Australian Pain Society conference Adelaide this week.

Thank you to who co-authored, edited and guided me in the process of translating the clinical case to an academic standard.

It is show casing the important & vital role of occupational therapy in treating chronic pain.

As a therapist who values the importance of person led care I'm surprised that my poster is one of very few with a real person pictured!

It's a case study of recovery from back pain within 6 months of OT involvement after 23 years of having every other intervention available.

Aside from this incredible outcome the poster highlights an OT model of practice which puts personally identified occupational disruption at the centre.

Feel free to reach out if you want to find out more. The full case presentation can be read at https://www.nextwavetherapy.com.au/meaningful-occupation-is-a-life-shaping-force-case-study
