I don’t call myself a weight loss nutritionist. I focus on health & hormone balance FIRST, then weight loss comes second.

The benefit of this approach is that weight loss is lasting - and it comes from a change in body composition, not just weight 👉 muscle mass stays around & stubborn fat slowly fades away.

Pure calorie restriction and GLP-1 medication offered by doctors DOES NOT guarantee muscle mass is preserved when you lose weight. I wish more people knew this.

✨ A sustainable, individualised approach with expert-led nutrition tweaks and bloodwork analysis DOES.

That’s what separates my approach.

✨ If you want a health first approach to achieving weight loss during Perimenopause or whilst navigating PMOS - that’s exactly what I do. Links in bio for services or my DMs are always open for a chat 💬

Calorie counting is like turning up to the fuel pump, not knowing what type of petrol your car takes and going “oh well, as long as I fill it to 35L”.

Yes, your car will still get from A —> B.

💭 But over time, the wrong fuel type lead to engine strain, unnecessary revving, poor performance and long-term damage.

I believe this is exactly what happens when we focus only on calories and ignore the quality of the fuel we’re putting into our bodies.

✨ What I teach is Nutrient tracking. I help people understand the type of fuel their body requires to function optimally (dependant on age, hormone status and exercise level) and guide them in a simple way to build meals that will support their “engine” internally.

This way of viewing nutrition often creates that real “aha” moment where people say “Oh… THIS is how my body is supposed to feel.”

💻 I’m sharing this method in my Webinar “Nutrient tracking vs. Calorie Counting - the shift that changes everything. It’s just 10 days away!

🤍 It could be the information which transforms the way you eat & feel. Comment FUEL & I’ll send you the link to sign up.

Nutrition feels hard when you don’t prioritise it. In my world, meal prep is quick & simple, so I CAN prioritise it and good Nutrition DOES feel simple ✨

I’ve started a 90 minutes per week meal prep rule.
✔️ 30 mins to grocery shop (yes it’s quick when you plan what you’re getting)
✔️ 30 mins to prepare for lunch or dinner meals (I chose to prep chop my veggies for Monday/Tuesday dinner and throw together a 4 bean salad to pair with protein for lunch)
✔️ 30 mins for breakfast or snack prep (I chose to make a choccy bark with dark chocolate, rice puffs, cashews, dates, coconuts and seeds to have for desserts or 3pm cravings)

When I locked in and had the 90 minute rule in mind - it only took me 75 minutes 🎉

Carbs aren’t the issue! It’s that they’re often eaten in excess and not balanced with significant fibre & protein (which keeps you full and stops said ‘excess’ carb consumption).

It brings me great joy to bring pasta, rice and potatoes back into peoples lives through the recipes I create & education I provide.

You NEVER have the cut them out.

Even in cases of insulin resistance (such as PCOS or Perimenopause) I have my clients eating pasta dishes if they enjoy them - I just expertly balance them with enough fibre and protein (and add extra veggies) to help them enjoy a comforting meal but still stay on track.

I also educate them on the appropriate portion size to allow carbs to provide energy, but not overly increase blood sugar levels or insulin 💭

✨ If you want this type of food freedom, it comes from increasing your education on the types & amounts of carbs that positively impact hormone health.

💻 I’m providing this education in 2 FREE Webinars on June 18th and June 20th.

Hello, I’m here to bring you back to basics 👋 and get rid of irrational food related stress that’s caused my “experts” online telling you what’s good and bad for you.

If everyone learnt the basics of nutrition - what foods belong to which food groups & the purpose of each food group… the world would be a better place.

Less vulnerability to fad dieting.

Less eating disorders.

Less emotional eating and restriction.

👆 All of these things come from a mindset where food is “bad” for us - it can come from information received in childhood and/or misinformation online.

🙋🏻‍♀️ I know this as I’ve been there. I had Anorexia in my teens which came from me following the “I Quit Sugar” diet as a young, active female.

👩🏻‍🏫 I am now a qualified Clinical Nutritionist on a mission to give women the education they never receive - which allows them to stay unbothered by diet culture & be confident fuelling their bodies in a balanced way.

💡 No cutting out food groups. No restriction. Just balanced, intentional meals and mindful eating.

✨ If you’re ready to learn more, I’m running 2 free webinars in June. Link in bio to sign up. I’d love to see you there!

I get asked all the time “Abbey is this good for me??” 💭

My answer is always - what are your goals?

Everyone loves to say this food is “bad” and this food is “good” like they’ve found the solution to everyone’s health issues.

Since being a Nutritionist I’ve seen:
🤷🏻‍♀️ Eggs are bad
🤷🏻‍♀️ Oats are bad
🤷🏻‍♀️ Grains are bad
🤷🏻‍♀️ Bananas are bad
🤷🏻‍♀️ Normal water is bad (heck we can’t even drink without doing on electrolytes these days apparently)

Whether a food is BENEFICIAL or should be MODERATED comes down to an individual, their goals and their bloodwork.

Don’t get caught up in the nonsense 🤍

If you’d like to learn more about my philosophy and how I teach people to feel confident in their nutrition choices & ignore the BS - I’ve got 2 free webinars coming up mid-June ✨

Don’t make the mistake I did. Don’t jump into fad dieting in the pursuit of “health” and end up unhealthier than you ever started - both physically and mentally.

👉 The way out of being vulnerable to diet trends, fads, constant calorie counting and food obsession is EDUCATION.

👉 When you KNOW better than the mis-information you’re consuming, it’s water off a ducks back.

💡 The information I’ll be sharing in my webinar isn’t rocket science. It’s the things women (& men!) should learn in school but don’t. The unique roles of our 3 main nutrient groups - carbs, fats, protein & what they actually DO in our bodies to support health in their own unique way. I’ll be reinforcing this topic by exploring the flaws of common calorie counting methods such as using My Fitness Pal.

✨ I’m holding 2 FREE Webinars: Nutrient tracking vs. Calorie Counting: the shift that changes everything.
