It’s taken me a few days to try and put this into words but here I go….

Firstly what an honour to not only be a finalist for WA’s Woman’s Leader in Fitness 2026, but to also win. Being acknowledged for my work and leadership in the Fitness Industry. Thank you for creating an event that acknowledges everyone’s efforts in the industry because truly all of us there on Saturday night pour so much into helping others and it’s so nice to be acknowledged. A massive congratulations to all of the nominees, finalists and award winners.

Winning this award means so much because I have truly been chipping away in the background doing something I genuinely love for years, but it wasn’t until I built our Happy Healthy Virtual Coaching Program that I have not only been able to help more people but I’ve also freed up more time to educate more people and do a lot of seminars in gyms to pass on my passion of fuelling correctly. I think in an industry that can easily be judged for being focused purely on appearance outcomes it’s great to remind everyone on the importance of real health and what that really looks like, it’s certainly not always a picture perfect bikini body and I say this coming from experience.

These results from Jess one of our longest gym partners speak for themself. Not only has just improved energy and body composition her metabolic health markers prove that quality whole food nutrition can do over time! It’s not always about calories, quality matters and our recipes are all about that- nourishing you!

I spoke about this with 3 different clients today and it’s actually pretty obvious to me but I guess when we are living in it, it’s hard to see where you might be going wrong so it can be nice to talk to an expert.

Things you might be doing wrong:
- Not moving enough, seems obvious but if you feel like you are eating how and what you use to but the weight is creeping on chances are your activity level has dropped so try and increase it and see what happens.

- You are drinking your calories, you’ve snuck in 1 or 2 extra milky coffees a day, or might be enjoying an extra wine…. It all adds up!

- Your protein has dropped, this happens more often than people realise. They try and “cut” back but take out the one thing that was actually working for them.

- Eating healthy meals but not realising just how calorie dense they are like curry and rice. Great meal for someone super active not great for a lightly active middle aged female trying to shift fat.

At the end of the day nutrition is just science and math but your personal balance and intake is going to be different to the next person and most of the time it’s the small tweaks that make the biggest difference. 😉
