When your body keeps repeating the same injury, it’s not random.
It’s a pattern asking to be seen — and freed.
Using the lyno method, we help your body return to flow. 🌿

Over the years in clinical practice, I’ve become increasingly intrigued by what I call the spontaneous injury — the kind that arrives out of nowhere.
No warning. No impact.

You were just doing what you always do — going for a run, making the bed, picking up the soap — and suddenly, it strikes.
And it stays.
Despite therapy.
Despite rest.
Despite medication.

Today, I worked with a young dancer whose back pain appeared without reason and now dictates her days. Another client has lived with sciatica for fifteen years, now complicated by an autoimmune disease. Both have tried everything — yet their pain persists.

When I assess them, I find a familiar pattern: a deep, unconscious bracing, like a fingerprint woven through the fascia.
No matter how they move, it’s there — shaping their posture, tightening their breath, feeding inflammation.

But what started this bracing?
And what keeps it alive?

When I ask, “What was happening in your life when the symptoms began?”, there’s often a pause — then a nod.
The moment the story surfaces, the body begins to understand.
Through awareness, breath, and gentle movement, it starts to release.

When we look inward, the body reconnects with the subconscious — and healing begins to flow.

Never settle for a cul-de-sac in life.
Look inward.
Listen to the body.
It remembers — and it knows how to let go.

Nowadays, most reputable running shoe stores provide a gait analysis, typically conducted while the runner is on a treadmill.

The recorded video reveals details such as foot placement and identifies abnormalities like overpronation.

Many analyses also display a print of the weight distribution upon landing.

The shoe salesperson can use this information to recommend a specific shoe to address these abnormalities.

However, when examining ‘specialised’ running shoes, the left and right shoes are identical.

This means the correction is applied to both feet, even if the abnormality is only present in one foot.

Consequently, the ‘normal’ leg may bear weight in a position deviating from its natural alignment.

Running injuries usually stem from imbalances in the body, where one side looks and functions differently than the other.

Such imbalances or non-alignments typically result from past injuries or habits, causing the body to brace in specific areas.

Suppose any part of the body cannot move properly. In that case, whether it’s the neck, shoulder, hip, or any other area, the rest of the body compensates by adjusting around that bracing, leading to improper foot planting.

Correcting foot placement without addressing the root cause not only exacerbates bracing issues but also introduces weaknesses and new injuries.

If you’re experiencing a running issue or injury, focus on fixing your body rather than relying solely on footwear.

The most effective approach involves consulting a therapist with a comprehensive, full-body perspective, capable of restoring your entire body to neutral alignment.

This method not only addresses the injury but also enhances overall performance.

Bad habits like hanging forward over your phone, carrying a child on the same hip, or working with 2 computer screens create dysfunctional neural pathways. The brain forms a new dysfunctional pathway, and muscles adjust accordingly. 💡🧠

This new normal causes overload of joints, muscles, and bones, leading to chronic pain and injuries. With our assessment, we identify how bad habits or trauma affect your body and help facilitate change. 🌟🩺

With our extensive assessment we draw up a profile of how your bad habits or previous trauma has affected your body. And once we have this map, it becomes easy to facilitate change. 💻

Take the challenge and work with us to remold your body back to full, injury-free function! 💪

It’s not just your bad grip, tight hip, or niggly back; it’s a full body pattern. Golf requires a complete spiral movement from the wrist to the ankle. If there’s a limitation anywhere, it leads to injuries and poor performance. 🏌️‍♀️

The exciting part? It can be corrected easily and quickly. Don’t stick to the same old attempts to solve your golf issues. Find a practitioner who can do a full body assessment and resolve the cause. It’s never been easier! 🌟

Chronic pain and recurring injuries are both a result of repetitive dysfunctional neural pathways in our brains.
Whenever we get stressed or challenged, our brain fires a specific, memorised circuit to protect us.
The more stress we put on the body, whether emotional or physical, as in overwork or overtraining, the more these protective circuits will kick in.
When we do our full-body assessments on all our clients with chronic pain, we find very specific patterns of bracing.
One client may have a stiff left shoulder and right ankle, while another, with the same chronic symptoms, may have a stiff back and neck.
Each individual is entirely different.
Through very gentle techniques, it is possible to change these protective patterns in the brain.
By doing that, we teach the brain to respond differently without triggering the patterns that cause chronic symptoms.
Come for an assessment today and discover which patterns your body is locked up in.

Chronic pain has become one of the most common ‘medical conditions’ in recent times.
All medical aids make special provision for chronic medications, with the main focus on suppressing symptoms, while very little attention is given to the cause.
Fortunately there is currently a huge turn towards BodyMind medicine, linking these chronic conditions to the autonomic nervous system.
Whenever we become stressed, our survival mind recalls previous similar events and responds automatically in the same way as before.
Our bodies brace up in a protective pattern, unique for each individual, and it is these patterns of bracing, that are the main cause of chronic symptoms.
This is why we get the same headaches, back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain etc., every time we become stressed.
Once we realise this and we can find the pattern in which our bodies automatically brace in, it opens the gateway to change.
When we connect to the autonomic nervous system, we create the opportunity to form new neural pathways and to close pathways which do not serve us. Notice how your mood changes when you change your posture from slumping to standing upright.
The answer to chronic pain lies in our bodies, in the exploration of our feelings, emotions, how we carry ourselves and how we move.

At any marathon or running event, numerous runners can be seen wearing knee braces, guards, and strapping.
When viewed from behind, signs of non-alignment can appear in various ways: uneven hip movements, asymmetrical arm swings, discrepancies in shoulder height, or a noticeable tilt in the neck.
Chronic knee problems invariably stem from body non-alignment, which adds undue stress to the knee and potentially affects the cartilage, ligaments, meniscus, fat pad, tendons, or other knee-related structures.
All these noticeable signs result from external forces exerting pressure on the knee, originating from different areas in the body.
The precise location depends on prior injuries, past surgeries, ingrained habits, and even unresolved emotional trauma.
Addressing chronic knee pain or any other chronic musculoskeletal injury necessitates pinpointing the root cause, which is achievable only through a comprehensive full-body assessment.
The FROM Test, a pivotal root-finding examination in the Lyno Method, provides a direct pathway to identifying the source and facilitates the resolution of chronic injuries.
Book a lyno assessment with Claire .health if you would like to sort your body alignment out and prevent future injuries
