Apparently turning 60 comes with a complimentary feature I didn’t order…Arthritis! 😬 My thumb joints have been sore for awhile now but the other fingers have decided to join in. I’m not sure if it’s a flare up or if it just stays this way but I’m onto it!
I’ve rummaged around in my herbal books and found the most potent (hot) herbs I could find in my apothecary for pain and inflammation. These are a few I’m trialing and will add menthol & frankincense resin infusions in a few weeks time…it’s a long process but I’ve started! 😁🍃

Essential Oils & Chemotherapy — Why Caution Matters 🛑

Natural doesn’t always mean safe… especially for cancer patients.

Whilst I was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, I wanted completely natural products for my dry and burnt skin but knew that essential oils were out of the question. As there wasn’t much to choose from on the shelves, I got to creating some gentle skin remedy balms myself and made them strictly from plants with absolutely no essential oils. And here is why…

During chemotherapy the body can be very sensitive and some essential oils may interact with medications or affect how medicines are processed by the body. Certain oils can also cause skin irritation or other unwanted effects when someone is undergoing cancer treatment.
Because chemotherapy drugs and treatment plans vary it’s important not to use essential oils in any way without first checking with your oncologist. They know best!
