Ice it or heat it? It's the question we get asked most. ๐ง๐ฅ
You've tweaked something at the weekend and you're standing at the freezer wondering โ reach for the ice pack, or the heat pack? Grab the wrong one and you could actually slow things down.
Here's the quick rule of thumb:
๐ง Cold is your go-to for fresh, painful or swollen injuries โ sprains, strains and bruises in the first 24โ48 hours. It helps settle swelling and numb the sharp stuff.
๐ฅ Heat is best for stiff, tight muscles and those nagging chronic aches โ once the initial swelling has gone. It relaxes muscles and gets the blood flowing.
Our latest article walks through exactly when to use each, how long to apply it, and a couple of simple tips to avoid doing more harm than good.
