🌱 A Lotus Three C’s tip: change just ONE thing
Helping a child explore new foods doesn’t have to start with a completely unfamiliar food.
Sometimes a Confident Food - something your child already knows and feels comfortable eating - can become a Curious Food with just one small change.
For example, if plain toast is a Confident Food, you might offer:
🍞 toast cut into a different shape
🍞 a different brand of familiar bread
🍞 toast with a tiny amount of something alongside it
🍞 the usual toast next to a new bread to look at, touch or explore
The goal isn’t to make your child eat it.
It’s simply to create a safe opportunity to notice:
"This is a little different… and I can explore it if I want to."
Small, pressure-free experiences can help unfamiliar foods gradually feel more predictable and manageable. 💚
