What a term it’s been at ActUp WA! 🎭

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

✨ Incursions: delivering theatre workshops for Down Syndrome WA’s adult and teen programs, and for Cahoots’ all-abilities and high-support teen groups.

🍳 Collaborations: as part of our Social Saturday program, we teamed up with Deb and Daniel from FYI Everybody Cooks for an interactive cooking workshop, where our actors learned cooking basics and made their own meals from scratch.

🌟 Programs: we’ve wrapped up two weeks of school holiday programs, and our term classes are running Tuesday to Sunday. Our actors have been busy writing and creating their own original plays from scratch!

Coming up:
• Whatability Optus Day
• The Source Kids Expo
• International Day of People with Disability with the City of Rockingham
• Our end-of-year show at St Mary’s on 12 December
..and plenty more in the works!

What a term it’s been at ActUp WA! 🎭

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

✨ Incursions: delivering theatre workshops for Down Syndrome WA’s adult and teen programs, and for Cahoots’ all-abilities and high-support teen groups.

Thank you to the amazing Debbie Harrison-Stone for running a spectacular cooking workshop for ACTUP WA on the weekend! 👩‍🍳🍪

Over the three hours, participants made apricot balls from scratch & their very own pizza! 🍕

We then finished off the workshop by eating our meals & chatting about our star signs, phantom of the opera and what our siblings look like! That topics were endless ⚡️

We can’t wait to see everyone on Thursday for our second FYIEVERYBODYCOOKS X ACTUPWA workshop 🔥

So grateful to Cahoots for having ACTUP WA run a workshop today! ⚡️

Throughout the workshop, participants explored drama-based activities that encourage team work, imagination, confidence & creativity! 🔆

We had such a blast & we loved our time with the Cahoots team ❤️

🎵🎧 GUESS THE SONG QUIZ 🎶

In our podcast workshop, one of our episodes we worked on creating was “Guess the Song Quiz” where the teacher played a song & the podcast hosts had to guess what song was being played!

This episode will be available to families soon & can be listened to in the car, in the kitchen or quite frankly… anywhere! ⚡️

🎭 Term 3 in the words of our actors.

We asked our 30 Sing / 30 Dance / 30 Act crew what their favourite activity from the term has been… and we loved hearing every single answer. 🎶✨

It’s been a big one. Between classes, choreography, and full-on rehearsals for our end of year showcase, these guys have shown up every single week and given it everything.

We are so proud of every single one of them 🔆⚡️

Over 5 weeks, ACTUP WA ran a theatre workshop designed to build confidence, social skills & self esteem as a part of DSWA’s “Adult Life Skills” Program 🎭

We had a ball & we hope you guys did too! 💪🏾
