Be honest…how many times have you caught yourself thinking:
“I need to earn my food.”
“I was bad today.”
“I’ll start again Monday.”
“I just have no self-control.”
After coaching so many active women, I’ve learned that these thoughts are often symptoms of the problem (and not the solution).
Because most women aren’t struggling because they lack discipline, they’re struggling because they’re trying to force themselves to follow a nutrition approach that doesn’t match their training their lifestyle, or their own body’s needs.
So they blame themselves, they think they’re the problem. When really, the plan is setting them up to fail.
You shouldn’t have to “earn” your food, you don’t need to be “good” to deserve dinner, and needing to eat enough to support your training isn’t weakness at all.
So if you’ve been stuck in the cycle of guilt, restriction, overeating, and starting over next Monday, maybe it’s time to stop questioning yourself and start questioning the rules you’ve been following.
Which of these thoughts do you catch yourself having most often?
