Some of our incredible PCHF Ambassador Kids and their siblings got the chance to be Official Toy Testers for BIG W’s Toy Sale - and safe to say, these toys all got the ultimate tick of approval!

Anastasia, who lives with cerebral palsy, loved her Hello Kitty plush; Charlie, who lives with cystic fibrosis, went straight for the Hot Wheels Monster Truck, and Savannah; who lives with a rare disease, was obsessed with her new Baby Paws.

The cutest part?💜 $2 Heart Tokens designed by Anastasia are now available at BIG W checkouts in WA, with 100% of funds supporting PCHF, helping bring care and joy to kids who need it most.

Pick up a token in-store this weekend to make a difference to WA’s sick kids 🏥

This was a special milestone for Danika - her first time colouring in again after brain surgery. ❤

For many kids impacted by illness, injury or disability, rehab means relearning childhood milestones all over again - from taking their first steps to writing their name.

This tax time, your gift will help support Kids Rehab WA at PCH, giving children like Danika the chance to experience these precious moments again.

Spending weeks in a hospital bed took its toll on Hailey. With agonising burns to her face, arm, torso and leg, her muscles were wasting away and she lost basic movement.

A team of Kids Rehab WA therapists swung into action, helping Hailey take her first steps again. The support was life-changing – Hailey went from sitting, to standing, to walking again for the first time.

This tax time, your donation will help fund vital rehab programs for WA kids at Perth Children's Hospital and Health Service, just like Hailey, impacted by illness, injury or disability.

We are proud to announce the landing page for Sandcastles (Boodja Mia) is now live!

The dual name is inspired by the natural surrounds of the children’s hospice, and was developed in partnership with Noongar cultural advisors, Soft Earth, with Sandcastles directly translating to Boodja Mia in traditional Noongar language.

You can learn more about Sandcastles (Boodja Mia), the neighbouring Swanbourne Community Park, and how you can partner with us at the new landing page here: sandcastles.org.au 🏖

Hailey’s sister, Chelsea, has been through more than most big sisters.💜 She was in the loungeroom when Hailey’s accident happened, and their world changed in a split second.

Since then, she’s been there in the waiting rooms, through the hospital appointments, and watched her little sister learn how to walk again.

Chelsea remembers seeing Hailey in hospital for the first time: very quiet, eyes closed, barely awake, and then slowly watched her return to her “sassy, bossy”, dance-loving self. ✨ She says rehab became one of Hailey’s favourite things, helping her rebuild confidence, make friends and rediscover joy.

This tax time, your donation will help fund life-changing rehab programs for WA kids at Perth Children's Hospital and Health Service and impacted by illness, injury or disability, helping kids like Chelsea get back to just being a big sister.

Please donate before June 30 at https://fundraisefor.pchf.org.au/tax.

Luca was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain tumour at just three years old.

She had an Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumour (AT/RT), one of the rarest and most
aggressive forms of childhood brain cancer. More than five years on from a gruelling 15 month battle which included high-risk surgery, chemotherapy, three stem cell transplants and radiation, Luca remains cancer free and is flourishing.

She officially ‘rang the bell’ to mark the end of her active treatment in 2021, and is enjoying school, being with her friends and a newfound passion for netball. “It’s so good to see her as a normal kid, enjoying netball, making new friends and cheering on her teammates,” said Luca’s mum Brooke.

Every three months, Luca visits PCH for scans, blood tests, rehabilitation and to check on the growth hormones she takes to help her grow and improve fitness and endurance levels, which were affected by treatment.

Luca is an inspiration for kids who’ve been recently diagnosed with the same rare cancer reach out and they all hold onto her for their hope.

We’re still riding high from celebrating our amazing nurses earlier this week on International Nurses Day.

CAHS nurses are known for their dedication, professionalism and the positive impact they make each and every day across our many services and specialties.

The day was filled with festivities and special events. Our nurse leaders donned a selection of historic uniforms to honour the nurses who came before them.

Perth Children's Hospital Foundation recognised nurses across CAHS by sponsoring morning teas and sweet treats in appreciation.

13 teams were nominated for CAHS Nursing Team of the Year, announced at the annual Nursing Showcase. Congratulations to joint winners CAMHS Crisis Connect and Child and Adolescent Community Health’s Aboriginal Health team – Ear Health (South) for sharing this year’s top prize.

Thank you for everything you do for our health service.

🧡🏡Coming soon to Swanbourne - Sandcastles Children's Hospice.

If your child is diagnosed with a life-limiting condition in Western Australia, your options are limited. Home or hospital - that’s it.
There’s currently no dedicated children’s hospice in WA. No place designed specifically for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Right now, more than 2,000 children in WA are living with a life-limiting condition - and behind each child is a family trying to manage the constant hospital visits, emotional exhaustion and disruption to their daily routines.
Sandcastles (Boodja Mia) is being built to change that as a place for respite, specialist care and support for the whole family - together.
Follow our page as we build something WA families have needed for a very long time. 🧡
