The first 24 hours after birth can bring a lot of changes and knowing what to expect can make them feel a little less overwhelming. 🤍

From exhaustion and after-birth pains to bleeding, soreness and those first small amounts of colostrum, your body is beginning its recovery while adjusting to life with your new baby.

These are just some of the changes you may experience, and every postpartum journey is different.

If something doesn’t feel right, your symptoms feel unusual or you’re concerned at any stage, please reach out to the clinic. For concerns outside of clinic hours, seek advice from an appropriate after-hours or urgent care service, or attend your nearest emergency department if you need urgent medical attention.

You know your body, never be afraid to ask for help or reassurance. 🤍

We’ve welcomed lots of new faces into our community recently, so we wanted to take a moment to share a few things we believe every expecting mum should know 🤰🏼

You can book in with Perth Pregnancy Clinic from the moment you find out you’re pregnant, there’s no such thing as too early or too late.

Our midwifery care is bulk billed, with just a one-off clinic fee of $325 payable at 12 weeks.

And most importantly, you don’t have to see a GP for your pregnancy care. Midwives can provide your pregnancy care, with specialised knowledge in pregnancy, birth, babies and the postnatal period.

We want more women to know their options, feel informed and choose the pregnancy care that feels right for them. 🤍
