Our Founding Director spent time helping one of our clients prepare for an exciting day out on the boat. From the planning and preparation to sharing plenty of laughs along the way, it's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.

For us, support is about more than just helping with daily tasks. It's about building genuine connections, encouraging independence, and making sure every person has the opportunity to enjoy the experiences that matter to them.

A person, supported by support worker, stepped onto the boat with a mix of excitement and nerves. As the boat moved forward and the wind picked up, something shifted… the world suddenly felt lighter, wider, freer.

Smiles came naturally. Confidence grew quietly. And for a little while, it wasn’t about limits or labels—it was just about the thrill of the moment, the sound of the water, and being fully present.

Meet Les

With over 12 years of experience in the disability sector, Les founded Finchcare with one simple belief: people always come first.

Throughout his career, Les has supported individuals and families with compassion, empathy, and a commitment to helping people live more independent and fulfilling lives. During the challenges of COVID, while many saw uncertainty, Les saw an opportunity to continue supporting people who needed it most. He stepped in when others couldn't, taking on clients who had lost support, working with individuals whose needs were considered complex, and ensuring no one was left behind.

One client became two. Two became many.

Some of the individuals Les supported had been turned away by others, but he believed everyone deserves quality care, patience, and someone willing to truly listen. He worked closely with participants, their families, healthcare professionals, and support teams to build trust and create support that was personalised to each person's goals and needs.

What started as one person with a passion for making a difference has grown into Finchcare—a team dedicated to providing personalised, person-centred support that empowers every individual to achieve their goals.

We're a dedicated NDIS provider offering Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access, 1:1 supports, group supports, life skills development, personal care, and a range of disability support services—all tailored to the individual goals and aspirations of each participant.

Our approach is simple: person-centred support. We take the time to get to know each person, working closely with families, support coordinators, and healthcare professionals to create meaningful supports that empower people to achieve the life they choose.
