Every reason your lash adhesive dries too fast or too slow…ranked by what we see most often in the salon. 🧪
Adhesive doesn’t randomly “stop working.” It’s almost always reacting to its environment or how it’s being handled.
🚨 Drying TOO FAST
1. Humidity is too high (most common)
Higher humidity speeds up cyanoacrylate polymerisation, causing the adhesive to cure before the extension is properly placed.
2. Room temperature is too warm
Warmer temperatures reduce adhesive viscosity, allowing it to cure faster than expected.
3. You’re working from an old glue drop
Refresh your adhesive every 15–20 minutes. As the drop is exposed to air, it begins curing, making performance inconsistent.
4. The bottle wasn’t shaken thoroughly
Shake vigorously for 1 minute before each use. This evenly disperses all ingredients for consistent performance.

🐢 Drying TOO SLOW
1. Humidity is too low (most common)
Without enough moisture in the air, the adhesive cures more slowly, increasing the risk of poor attachment and stickies.
2. Room temperature is too cold
Lower temperatures increase viscosity, slowing the curing process.
3. The nozzle is partially clogged
Dried adhesive around the nozzle affects flow and can alter the adhesive’s performance.
4. The adhesive was refrigerated after opening
Once opened, adhesive should be stored in a cool, dry, airtight container not the fridge. Temperature fluctuations and condensation can reduce stability.
