🧠 What Type of Back Pain Are You Experiencing?
Back pain isn't a one-size-fits-all problem.
In fact, understanding what kind of back pain you're experiencing is often the first step toward finding the right solution and getting back to doing the things you love.
Here are some of the most common types of back pain we see:
🔹 Non-Specific Low Back Pain
This is the most common type of back pain, accounting for around 8 in 10 cases. It's often linked to muscles, joints, posture, movement habits, or everyday physical stress rather than a single identifiable cause.
⚡ Acute Back Pain
Pain that appears suddenly, often after lifting, bending, gardening, sport, or a minor injury. While it can be alarming, early assessment can help identify what's contributing to the problem.
⏳ Chronic Back Pain
Pain that persists for 12 weeks or longer. Chronic pain can affect much more than movement, often influencing energy levels, confidence, sleep, and overall wellbeing.
➡️ Referred or Radiating Pain
Pain that travels into the buttocks, hips, or down the leg. This can sometimes involve irritation of nerves and may require a more detailed assessment.
💭 Did you know?
Back pain doesn't just affect the body. Research shows it can also impact mental wellbeing, contributing to increased stress, fatigue, reduced activity levels, and lower quality of life.
The good news? Understanding your pain is the first step toward taking control of it.
If you've been putting up with back pain, don't ignore it and hope it will go away. Getting the right advice early can make all the difference.
