🌿 **FROM GRANDMA TO HOLISTIC GAPS NURSE**

I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years, working across acute care, mental health, aged care, palliative care, community health, and supporting people with complex health needs across the lifespan.

I never expected my nursing journey to take this path, but becoming a grandmother changed everything for me.

When my grandson was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, I experienced firsthand how overwhelming the journey can be for families — the uncertainty, the appointments, the conflicting advice, and the emotional weight of trying to find answers.

Like many families, we worked through different supports and therapies, but I kept coming back to one question:

How do we support the whole person, not just individual symptoms?

That question led me to deepen my focus into the connection between gut health, nutrition, lifestyle, and the nervous system.

Over time, this developed into a holistic, GAPS-informed approach to nursing care — supporting people to better understand what may be contributing to symptoms and how to support overall wellbeing alongside their existing care.

Today, I support children, adults, and families navigating chronic and complex health conditions, including neurodiversity, mental health challenges, and long-term health concerns.

Every person’s situation is unique, and care should reflect that.
