Leading Lights Early Intervention

Our dear friend, The Honourable Bruce Billson, set us up with an incredibly exciting and productive meeting today with the Shadow Minister for Education- Elizabeth Lee.

We were able to share real-time issues, including perspectives from parents and teachers, challenges with resource availability, and limitations in current classroom setups. We highlighted how school infrastructure often falls short for children with additional needs and advocated for funding to enhance teacher training in learning, cognition, and neurodevelopment.

We also addressed functional treatments for various disabilities and diagnoses to ensure positive outcomes for children receiving therapies both inside and outside school. Both Bruce Billson and Elizabeth Lee were receptive, showing genuine interest in our findings. We left the meeting feeling optimistic about future collaboration and are extremely grateful for their time.

We look forward to continuing to advocate, collaborate, and effect positive change.

Little Lights Early Intervention Playgroup is COMING! ✨🌟

This is no ordinary playgroup; this is an educational group for parents and carers. Hosted by early intervention specialists and therapists in the field, we will also have guest speakers and visits from other health professionals each week. Move away from the groups where it is too easy to compare your child to others, and step into our all-inclusive space where we can give you 'real-time' advise, support, and integrated therapy services.

They have their own expertise and wisdom. Together, we have a powerful connection and this contributes to the amazing outcomes we acheive with the children and families we look after.

MEDIA RELEASE! A message from our Director, Annabel.

No more waiting to share my news!!
It is an honour to be a member of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Committee Forum. The voice I have worked hard to have, is now officially in a place where it can be heard more than ever. I look forward to advocating for the best outcomes in paediatric health and using my personal journey, academic knowledge, and lived experience to work with other amazing advocates in this space. This includes my incredible team at Leading Lights Early Intervention

My focus is on addressing systemic issues in paediatric care, including fragmented communication across multidisciplinary teams—particularly within the key worker model. I will advocate for equitable and consistent funding in early childhood disability, and for strengthening the capability of NDIS planners and workers to accurately interpret clinical reports so that the complexity of disability is properly reflected in funded Plans.

As the ACT representative for early intervention, I am committed to highlighting the lived experiences of vulnerable children and families, and to driving meaningful reform that delivers measurable improvements in child health and developmental outcomes.

Mum's glass for the evening has turned into hours of fun and experimenting! Also, I get to spend some fun and connecting time with my children. It's beautiful to see their young minds investigate and explore... and I've got my own wine glass exploration going on!
