🎉 Good food, good company… could it get any better! 😁

This past Saturday, we headed out to the Whale Festival to help welcome the whales back to the Hervey Bay shores with his family 🐋 It looks like they had an absolute blast soaking up the sunshine and vibes ☀️ This is exactly why we love community events there's always something to enjoy and it’s a great excuse to get out and about!

☕ Nothing beats a good coffee and a day at the beach 🌊

Simple outings like these, enjoying the sun and grabbing a coffee can be the highlight of your week ☀️ These everyday adventures getting out and about in the community can be huge steps in participants reaching their personal goals and we love to see it 😊

💙🌭Nothing beats a community BBQ 🌭💙

We had a great time at the My Hero Disability Services Community BBQ this week, with one of our participants enjoying the chance to catch up with others, share a laugh and of course bring along his adorable dog! 🐶

We love seeing our participants getting out, meeting new people and enjoying everything our local community has to offer. We’re looking forward to the next one! 😊

🎣☺️ Hobbies are about so much more than just passing the time 🕗💙

Recently one of our participants had a great day out with her support worker engaging in one of her hobbies… fishing 🎣 We love helping people engage in hobbies they already love and encourage curiosity in trying out new hobbies too! Having a hobby is a great way to build confidence, develop new skills and support overall wellbeing 🤗 It also provides a great opportunity to connect with others with the same interests and make some friends!

We'd love to hear…what's your favourite hobby? 💬✨

💙🤩 There's nothing better than spending time with others and having a bit of fun! 🤩💙

One of the best parts about what we do is creating opportunities for people to meet others with similar interests through shared activities 🎶 The friendships that grow from these activities aren't something we can create for people… these friendships are completely their own! For us though, watching these connections grow is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do 😊

👋 Hi! I'm Gabbi 👋

You may have noticed more posts from us over the past few months… that's me 😁 I’m the social media manager working with Planet Support Services behind the scenes creating content for a little while now, so I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself 👋😊

I’m someone living with a disability too, I love what I do here and being able to help share stories and give you a glimpse into the amazing people, moments and community that make Planet Support Services so special 💙

For a long time, I wasn't sure whether having a job would ever be possible for me. My disability fluctuates a lot and I worried that needing flexibility would make me "too unreliable" to be a good employee.. I wanted the independence and confidence that came with working, but I was scared I'd have to choose between my health and having a job 😣

I was lucky to have Planet Support Services and My Hero helping me through this journey and giving me a chance 🙌 Rather than expecting me to fit into a traditional role, they supported me to build one that works around my skills, creativity and my health 🤗 💓

My experience has shown me just how important and valuable inclusive workplaces can be. People shine when they are supported to work in a way that suits their strengths and needs and when they aren't pressured to fit into a mould that was never designed for them. I'm very grateful and happy to have this chance and to be a part of this incredible community 💙✨

If you see me around, feel free to say hi ☺️👋

💙😊Getting out and about 😊💙

It was a great morning today at the seafront oval for the monthly My Hero BBQ! We always enjoy getting together at community events like this and today was no different ☀️ It was a great way to spend a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed the yummy food and good company!

We’re always grateful to spend time with such an amazing community! 🤗

🌱 Confidence Starts Somewhere 🌱

For some people, getting out of the house is easy! For others though, it can be one of the hardest parts of the day… That’s why having the right support matters 🩵🙏🏻

Having someone you trust can make those days a whole lot easier 😊🙌🏻

If you’re looking for a support worker you want to genuinely connect with, we’d love to chat 😊

🤝 Sometimes, building social confidence starts with having someone to share a coffee with 🤝

Whether it's grabbing a coffee, choosing a snack, or spending time with a trusted support worker, these everyday experiences can help build confidence and strengthen social skills 😁

The relationships built through support can create a safe space to practise communication, make choices and feel more comfortable connecting with others. Over time, those skills and experiences can carry into everyday life, making it easier to build friendships, join in with the community, and try new things 🤗

It’s about building connections that reach far beyond support 💙
