What a weekend! 🏐

Some of our MT crew had the privilege of spending 3 days at the NSW Netball State Championships in Baulkham Hills, supporting the Wollondilly Netball Association with all of their physiotherapy needs! ✅

From strapping and injury management, to recovery and keeping players game-ready, it was fantastic to be part of such a high-level event and support these talented young athletes through their many games 💪

A huge congratulations to all of the Wollondilly players who represented their association with pride, determination, and sportsmanship 👏

We’re proud to support such an amazing association within our community 🙌✨

Well done to everyone involved! 🤩

Tendinopathy isn’t usually an inflammation problem.

It’s a load management problem.

Most painful tendons aren’t “damaged” or “torn” beyond repair. They’re often reacting to loads they currently don’t have the capacity to handle.

🏃 What you’re demanding
vs.
💪 What the tendon can currently tolerate

The frustrating part?

Rest often makes it feel better.

The dangerous part?

Rest alone rarely makes it more capable.

The goal is to gradually rebuild capacity ⭐️

✅ Find loads that are tolerable
✅ Stay consistent
✅ Progress over time
✅ Get stronger than the demands of your sport or life

Pain doesn’t always equal damage, and rest doesn’t always equal recovery.

A stronger tendon is a more resilient tendon.

Stop chasing quick fixes. Start building capacity.

Not all stress on the body is a bad thing 🙌🏽

In rehabilitation, we aim to use the right amount of stress to help the body adapt, heal, and become more resilient.

But there’s a catch…

Too much stress, too often, without enough recovery can put the body past its ability to adapt. This can contribute to:

💢 Persistent pain and inflammation
💢 Poor recovery and fatigue
💢 Reduced performance

The goal isn’t to avoid stress completely - it’s to find the right balance 🔑

Bone mineral density isn’t just about ageing - it’s about loading your body the right way 🦴💪

Resistance training places healthy stress through the bones, which helps stimulate bone growth and maintain strength over time. This is especially important for reducing the risk of osteoporosis, fractures, and loss of function as we age 👵👴

Key benefits of resistance training for bone health:
⭐️ Improved bone density
⭐️ Increased muscle strength
⭐️ Reduces falls and fractures risks
⭐️ Improved long term function and independence

Strong muscles help support strong bones 🔑

WOLLONDILLY BUSINESS AWARD WINNERS!! 🏆

Last night was a pretty special one for the team at Movement Therapy 💛

We were incredibly proud to take home the Most Outstanding Health Service Provider Award in our category, before also being awarded the Business of the Year across Wollondilly.

To receive recognition like this in the community we care so deeply about is something we definitely don’t take lightly.

A huge congratulations to all of the other finalists and winners from the night — there are so many incredible local businesses doing amazing things within our region.

Thank you to the Business Awards team for hosting such a fantastic event, and most importantly, thank you to every single person who has trusted us with their health journey over the years. This award belongs to our entire team, our patients, and the community that continues to support us every day.

We’re incredibly grateful… and very excited for what’s ahead 💫

Introducing our newest Movement Therapist - Sammy!

Some of you may already know her smiling face, but for those who don’t, Sammy first joined Movement Therapy back in 2022. Since then she’s been an incredible asset of our amazing admin team, as well as a sports trainer for our local sporting teams ✨

Over the years, many of you would’ve seen her welcoming patients, helping behind the scenes, and supporting athletes through game days!

Now, Sammy is officially a qualified physiotherapist 💙

Sam’s experience in sport, passion for helping people, and understanding of the MT approach makes her an incredible addition to our team - and we are beyond excited to have her 🙌🏽

Sammy’s books are now open - make sure to say hello if you see her around 😊
