😓 Did you know how sleep deprivation affects your ability to respond and perform?

Drop a comment if you've ever tracked/monitored your sleep and competition performance together?

In a well-known Australian study, researchers found that response speeds were up to 50% slower after extended wakefulness. While the study primarily involved men and focused on one long stretch without sleep, it highlights a crucial point: ongoing sleep restriction can have serious consequences.

Sleeping just six hours a night for two weeks can lead to impairments similar to missing a full night or two of sleep. And the kicker? Most people don’t even realize how impaired they are!

Let’s prioritise our sleep and recognise its impact on our daily lives. How do you ensure you get enough rest?

When we have only one plan for getting to a competition and it doesn’t go to plan, we carry that stressed and mobilised nervous system into our ride. That’s why having plans for the plan is so important to our competition riding

When's the best time to shake things up in your riding routine? šŸ¤”

It's definitely NOT during the season!

Every weekend has something riding on it. You've got entries you've paid for, and you're protecting your horse's legs. You don’t want to mess with anything that’s working, even if it’s just working.

So, keep your home riding nice, quiet, and safe because there’s a show on Sunday.

The off-season is the only stretch of the year when you can make your home sessions a bit messy without any consequences. If a session goes sideways, you’ve got time to learn from it.

That’s the most valuable rehearsal space!

What do you think? How do you use your off-season to improve? Share your thoughts below!

Are you waiting for the perfect moment to start?

When you wait until the season starts, your first competition turns into your first rehearsal. You'll be learning the thing in the very place it costs you the most.

If you're waiting to feel the difference before you start, you'll be waiting until it's too late to build it.

Do the work when it's quiet, get the payoff when it's loud.

Let's embrace the journey together! What steps are you taking now to prepare for your next big moment?
