Something I love about the Mornington Peninsula crowd is that they get it. They already live for the coastline, the slow Sunday, long lunches and true rejuvenation. They understand what we're about before they even arrive.

What often gets forgotten is that they're only 40 minutes away by ferry from Sorrento.

We're hosting a sound bath beside the fire with Charlotte Fraser from White Swan Sound and Yoga, on Thursday 16th July, Charlotte is wonderful, and this is the kind of evening that tends to stay with you.

You'll arrive to a herbal tea, settle in beside a crackling indoor fire, and let the sound do the rest. Afterward, there's homemade soup and focaccia. Warm food, quiet conversation, the kind of night that makes the whole week.

6.15pm arrival for 6.30-8pm sound bath

If you want to make a longer evening of it, arrive at 4:45pm and spend 90 minutes in our Contrast Therapy Space and Mineral Pools before the sound bath begins.

Local photographer is our current Artist In Residence with ‘UNSEEN’.

A Collection of Infrared Photography from Point Lonsdale on the walls of Lon from May 24 until July 12. Lon Gallery open daily.

Jane’s new series of infrared images captures Point Lonsdale in a way that sits just beyond the visible. Using an all-spectrum camera, familiar coastal scenes shift in tone and contrast — offering a quieter, more abstract take on a well-known landscape.

Shot across Point Lonsdale, Unseen focuses on the understated structures of the coast — trees, fences, pathways and open stretches of land. These elements, often overlooked, become the anchor points within each frame. Rather than documenting the coastline as it appears, her use of infrared photography reveals something slightly altered. The work sits between the familiar and the unfamiliar, inviting a slower, more considered way of seeing.

Forty minutes from Sorrento to us. That's it. That's all it takes to get here. You watch the coastline shift, maybe spot something in the water, and by the time you arrive at Lon, you are truly on the way to reconnecting to yourself, your rhythm.

Cortisol is the thing nobody talks about at the wellness retreat conversation.

We talk about rest. About slowing down. About switching off. But underneath most of it is one hormone that modern life has quietly pushed well past where it should be, and the body genuinely struggles to bring it back down on its own.

Jade, our Spa Manager, has written and spoken about this a lot. Her view: stress isn't just something you feel. It's something your body measures. And the only way to move the needle is to give it conditions that are physiologically different from the ones that wound it up in the first place.

That's what Lon was built for. Not as a metaphor, but for real, deep rest.

If your body has been running hot for a while, it might be time.

Today was a big day. We are so proud to be finalists in not one, but two categories in the World Spa & Wellness Awards - Spa Team of the Year & Spa of the Year - Asia & Australasia. The winners will be announced in London in early October.

This is a huge honour for our little retreat by the sea. We are certainly playing on the big stage here and could not be prouder for Jade and her spa team. For Lon Spa to be acknowledged in this way on a global scale is a testament to all the dedication and heart that all our therapists and team put in year round.

We are so proud to have built and lead a team with such professionalism and high standards. To be recognised in the same category as the major players worldwide, is simply remarkable. Especially for a small family business such as ours.

Our Sunday-Thursday bathing sessions are here. No need for a spa treatment booking. Your chance to bathe, sauna & plunge your own way.

Our guided thermal sequence is available for a 90 minute session. A towel, gown & locker provided.

Float weightlessly in the heated mineral pool.
Sink into the hot mineral soak.
Both fed from natural mineral springs flowing through limestone caves.
