Lovely to be out with 'Albatross', a pure tone A note Quartz Crystal Singing Bowl from Singing Bowls By Crystal Tones. Albatross has travelled far and wide sharing beautiful song whilst in my care (also spent some time with my sister Mim some years ago (possibly around 2018).
Albatross joined my journey in 2016 when I travelled to NSW to join The Crystal and Sound Academy Nelson-Smith for a week of blissful learning, sharing and supporting on one of her International Sound Therapy Trainings. I am amazed that 10 years has flown past, and am so incredibly grateful for the way sound has amplified my jourey in life, from travels to incredible places with Singing Bowls and other Therapists to having Albaross in my hospital room last year as I recovered from a life-threatening Staph Infection. Glad to say I am now able to walk long distances again (for 6 days last year I was unable to walk), and can dance, climb and play with delight. Singing Bowls are such an important part of my life, and have been since I first met Susie Nelson-Smith in around 2005 and purchased my very first Quartz Crystal Singing Bowl.
My family of Singing Bowls now numbers 25, and 23 of those are Quartz Crystal Bowls of various sizes, notes and tones.
I love to share the frequencies of the bowls, and often say "Have Bowls, Will Travel", as I am so open to the adventures that flow.
See you out there, or here at the amazing Grampians Paradise Camping and Caravan Parkland, my home base.

The season has changed here in the Grampians, the wetlands are filling....the change is so evident as we look out on oyr lake and wetlands.
Gariwerd sees six traditional seasons, and often the change really shifts our approach to daily tasks, when we work, when we rest. Shorter days give us long periods od dark for rest and recovery, nourishing our bodies with hearty foods and warm drinks.
Indigenous folk know this season as
"Chunnup – season of cockatoos
Winter: late May to end of July
Freezing winds
Coldest time of year
Bleak mists
Rain
Chunnup is depicted by cockatoos and fungi as well as clothes and totems.

Lifestyle of the Gariwerd communities during Chunnup
Bands moved to rock shelters in the hills for refuge.

Long cloaks were made from possum skins.

Old people and pregnant women rubbed emu fat into the skin for protection from the cold.

For ornamentation, people wore kangaroo teeth necklaces, hat mats and nose piercings.

Green orchids on black background.
Winter orchids, like the Tall Greenhood, are flowering in woodland areas during Chunnup

Fungi appear including:

Coral Fungus on mossy ground

Many early wattles flowering:

Cranberry heath.
Fire-damaged trees show epicormics shoots, such as Yellow box.

Mammal
Possums have young in pouch during Chunnup.

Sugar gliders give birth.

Echidnas are searching for mates.

Birds
Several bird species are nesting, including:

Brown Thornbill building first nests
Scrub Wrens
Jacky Winter Flycatcher returning to nesting sites

Many birds active and on the move:

Shrike T**s tear bark off manna gums
Fantailed Cuckoos make first calls
Sittellas flocks pass through
Yellow-tailed Cockatoos seek new feeding grounds
honeyeaters are attracted to newly flowering eucalypts
noisy Minahs call loudly at dawn
Satin Bowerbirds on the move
little ravens flocking
Powerful Owls laying eggs.

Swans and coot graze on lake shores.

Rising waters cause ducks to seek new feeding and nesting areas.

Lapwings are nesting on eggs.

Innerji on retreat.... Have you ever wondered where therapists go to reconnect, recharge and prepare for all the different treatments they will give before the next holiday?
Have you ever wondered what it takes to hold space for others, who sometimes hold little and sometimes hold the world on their shoulders? It's an honour to be able to hold this space, but also requires a well developed capacity to support the flow of energy, wherever it may be needed or called for.
In studying Arvigo ®️ Therapy, Mayan Spiritual Healing and Kahuna Massage, I have met with some beautiful techniques, passed down over centuries in lineage, and am ever so grateful to hold such knowlledge.
Deep connection to Indigenous Traditions, Sites and Practices allows some rather special moments when I actually take time to be quiet and listen to the call.
I am currentli in Tasmania 'on retreat', and found myself called to Mt Misery in the Huon Valley, and being a private forest reserve, it's not on the average tourist route.
I met one other person, but other than that had the place to myself, which was a real treat.
This was also a major milestone for me, having had 8 months off work last year following a staph infection. I sure have learned to walk again, I danced along the track, the stone staircases were a delight to navigate, and climbing rocks at the top was a treat!
None of that woukd have been possible this time last year, i'd only just begun navigating steps and had to think carefully before using my left leg to climb anything not flat.
Much of the healing journey gave me opportunities to practice my learnings and treat myself as no.1 patient. It has paid off.
I have gained much wisdom and now fully appreciate the delight of recreating life after a major health event.
I open my arms and my clinic to welcome those who wish to experience the treatments I offer, and especially invite those wishing to try a 'retreat' type approach, staying and having treatments each day, or simply taking a morning or afternoon to experience 'Phoenix Rising', my signature 3 and a half hour session/journey/experience. These sessions are curated for you, are really special, and are truly my favourite to give.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if curious about treatment options, I am happy to set up time dor a 15 minute conversation ahead of any of the longer treatments, and of course welcome the opportunity to support you on your life journey.
Back in The Grampians early June.

Insight fron Nessa... life experience.
It's MCS Awareness Month in May.

"Until you try living without artificial fragrances theres no way of knowing how much they are affecting your body.
Concentration span, headaches, blocked noses, tiredness, fuzzy head, anxiety, lack of energy - all things that impact me when exposed to artificial fragrances.
As a teacher I was trained to observe behaviours and functionality of students in my class, and in the playground. As a human with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities I know from personal experience, what can happen in my body when someone enters the room with a powerful fragramce on board....
Natural products don't affect me, the scent of a lemon, a spicy curry, a rose or ripe peach, all delightful scents.
The scent of well made (ie made without the use of chemical extraction methods) essential oils are also fine, the ones made through chemical extraction are so obvious through my bodys response...and if I listen to my body, not all the big manufacturers are being honest about extraction methods.
Maybe if your wellness isn't quite right you could try 2 weeks or more without scents...put the scented candles and fragranced items in a sealed container outside. Let your body rest from them - includinf shampoos, soaps, washing up detergent etc. Give it a go, even dropping out one thing at a time will be a good experiment.
Notice, listen and observe how your body feels, you may discover a life changing aspect of artificial fragrance-free living. These chemicals disrupt our endocrine gland, which affects many hormones in the body. I'm not going to explain endocrine gland function today, but seriously recommend you read up about it. Your life will quite likely be better for what you discover.
My life will also be better if you avoid using artifi ial fragrances in my presence.
When and if you reintroduce fragranced products, do it one at a time so you can notice any effects.

Funny (but sad) fact - out bushwalking in fresh air, sometimes I can actually smell people coming by the washing powder fragrance in their clothes....and sometimes shampoo!!! It's absolutely disgusting. Of course this is amplified in cities, shops or workplaces!!! Urgh.
Give me the smell of a fresh lemon any day!!!"

In Chapter 2 of The 7 Secrets of Sound Healing, Jonathan Goldman reminds us that sound is more than vibration alone.

Frequency carries the wave, but intention gives it direction.

The state we are in, the awareness we bring, and the belief we hold all influence how sound is experienced.

Before making a tone, pause.
Notice your breath.
Notice your state.

Then let sound carry that awareness forward.

International Sound Healing Day 2026.... beautiful resonance leading in to a special 24 hours as the wave of sound moves around the planet.
Grateful for the tradition, sad I missed last year (the first miss in 22 years), but grateful to be here in full health for this year.
'Have Bowls, Love Travel' is my catch phrase!!!
Looking forward to many special adventures ahead.
