Barunga Community Care offers a range of services to people living in the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula regions, and everywhere in between. Our services can now be delivered to your home to help you… wherever you live. There are two levels of Government subsidised support for eligible people who wish to remain in their own home for longer. The entry level support services are through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) which offer assistance with transport and domestic services. The next level of support is a Home Care Package (HCP) which is a personalised package of care customised to suit your needs. It may include services such as domestic assistance, personal care (bathing and dressing etc.), social support, meal preparation, shopping, light gardening, transport and medication support. Private fee-for-service is also available upon request if you are unable to/or do not wish to use Government subsidised services. RESIDENTIAL

Barunga Village proudly offers residential care at two welcoming locations: Barunga Homes in Port Broughton and The Willochra Home in Crystal Brook. Barunga Homes is an award-winning aged care facility, specialising in dementia care. Located in the delightful seaside town of Port Broughton on the Yorke Peninsula, each of the 87 rooms offer an ensuite and outdoor views. The Willochra Home, located in the heart of Crystal Brook, continues Barunga Village’s tradition of respectful, relationship-centred care. With 34 fully serviced rooms, it offers both high and low-level care in a welcoming country-style setting. Our holistic services provide our consumers priority access to additional services within Barunga Village, as their health needs change. Free cyber security workshops are continuing across the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula throughout June.

These sessions are designed to help older Australians feel more confident and safe online by learning how to spot scams, protect personal information and stay secure when using the internet.

UPDATE: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE AT BARUNGA HOMES

We have been advised that the planned power outage scheduled for today has now been cancelled.

However, please be aware that telephone and internet services at Barunga Homes will still be affected throughout the day.

All care and food services will continue as normal and visitors are welcome as usual.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM BARUNGA HOMES

This past week at Barunga Homes, we celebrated National Volunteer Week and recognised our wonderful volunteers with a BBQ lunch in appreciation of all that they do for our organisation.

We also welcomed a special visit from the Port Broughton Area School Choir, whose beautiful singing brought smiles, joy and plenty of happy moments to our House Members.

FAREWELL AND THANK YOU TO ELISE

Today, we shared a special morning tea to farewell and thank Elise for more than nine years of dedicated service to Barunga Village.

Over the past nine years, Elise has been a valued and trusted member of our Finance Team, bringing professionalism, kindness and support to those around her every day. Her contribution to our organisation has truly made a difference and she will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside her.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Elise has given to Barunga Village and wish her all the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter.

FAREWELL AND BEST WISHES TO CARMINA

Today, we farewelled Carmina and thank her for more than six years of service with Barunga Village.

During her time with us, we have had the privilege of watching Carmina grow from a House Carer into a Registered Nurse. Her compassion, commitment and caring nature have made a lasting impact on our team and the people we support.

Thank you, Carmina, for everything you have contributed over the years. We wish you every success and happiness in your next chapter.

INTERGENERATIONAL PLAYGROUP – MONDAY 25 MAY 2026

Join us for our Intergenerational Playgroup and enjoy stories, laughter, and meaningful moments as younger and older friends connect.

Parents and grandparents with children under school age are warmly invited, whether it is your first visit or you have joined us before, we would love to see you there.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES – MAY AND JUNE 2026

We are pleased to share our June 2026 bus trip schedule. Our Social Activities program offers an enjoyable way to stay connected, spend time with others and try something new.

One more destination for May 2026 still remains, the May program is also attached.

We have a great list of bus trips planned for June including Blyth Cinema, The Farm Shed Museum and plenty of history tours.

We look forward to sharing another enjoyable month of outings together.

We are excited to be attending the Uni Hub Career Roadshow in Kadina and Port Pirie.

Come and talk with our team members about current career opportunities, diverse roles and career pathways available at Barunga Village.

We will also have our VR headset available for attendees to experience. These headsets are used by consumers across our services and offer a unique insight into how technology can support connection, engagement and wellbeing.
