Home of Banjo Bear & better for you chocolate grown & made with love in Port Elliott, South Australia. From our carob loving family to yours 🫶

Over 15 years ago on a lovely piece of land in sunny Port Elliot, South Australia, Ma and Pa Carob planted their first little Carob tree. Since then one became many and our Carob family was born. Each gorgeous tree has been nurtured with organic love and a sprinkling of water and now our little trees spend their time basking in sun, smelling the sweet sea breeze and checking out their amazing sea views of the Fleurieu Peninsula (it’s all right for some!). All the while producing the much anticipated Carob Fruit.

Carob Scones in the AIR FRYER?! Yep - and you 100% need to try it 🤤

Our easy Air Fryer Carob Scones are soft, fluffy and have that delicious naturally sweet, chocolatey carob flavour.

AIR FRYER CAROB SCONES
Makes 4

INGREDIENTS
2 cups flour
2 tbsp The Carob Kitchen | Home of Banjo Bear 🧸 Raw or Roasted Carob Powder
2 tbsp baking powder
200ml full-cream milk, plus 1-2 tbsp extra if needed (if the dough feels too dry)
Sweetener / sugar (optional)
Pinch of salt
Extra milk, for brushing

METHOD
1. Add the flour, carob powder, baking powder and salt to a bowl and mix to combine.
2. Pour in the milk and gently mix until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms, adding a little extra milk if needed. Be careful not to overmix.
3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape to around 3–4cm thick. Cut into 4 scones.
4. Place the scones into your air fryer basket and brush the tops lightly with milk.
5. Air fry at 180 for 10-12 minutes, or until risen and just cooked through.
6. Serve warm and enjoy!

We are proud to make the most of every single carob pod that we grow on our South Australian farm.⁠

Once harvested, the pods can be processed in different ways to create the carob ingredients behind our range.⁠

Carob Powder⁠
Te carob pod is dried, roasted and milled into the fine, naturally sweet powder we use as the carob base for our Banjo Bears, Carob Bars and other carob creations.⁠

Carob Syrup⁠
Carob pods are used to extract their naturally sweet flavour, creating our rich, smooth syrup that can be drizzled over everything from breakfast bowls to salads and desserts.⁠

Carob Kibble Nibbles⁠
Pieces of the carob pod are chopped into crunchy little kibbles, giving you carob in one of its simplest and snackable forms.⁠
