These dogs undergo years of rigorous, specialised training to function as a direct extension of your nervous system.

They help give back independence.

This includes proven research to utilise deep pressure therapy, leaning their body weight firmly against you to force your heart rate and nervous system back down.

They actively interrupt pacing or hyperventilating. If a crowd gets too heavy, they know how to navigate the quickest route to an exit, taking the mental load off your shoulders when overstimulation kicks in.

Actively standing behind you in queues to create a physical buffer so you don't constantly have to scan the room.

Understanding a dark or enclosed space enough to move ahead to establish the space and let you know it's safe to step inside.

By your side at night, they detect the sudden shift in your breathing, sweat, and movement, stepping in to wake you with physical contact before the nightmare takes hold.

They are a working partner built to share the burden of hypervigilance so you don't have to carry the watch alone.

These dogs require 6 to 18 months of training, costing $30,000 - $50,000 with certification.

An estimated 15,000+ veterans could clinically benefit from a psychiatric assistance dog, yet the DVA program has placed only a few hundred dogs nationwide since its official rollout.

We want to make this more accessible, and can ease the process and give you a far better understanding of what you are entitled to.

Veteran owned & operated, AVAC is a specialist DVA claims advocate service, providing expert and compassionate guidance through claims, reviews and appeals.

You served your country. Most importantly, you provided for your family.

The missed milestones, the relocations, and the physical or mental toll you bring home, they live through every bit of it.

22% of our ex-service members do not get the choice to continue providing post-service.

Yes, the DVA does cover family members and dependants, but they shouldn't be penalised for it.

Our stance on this is non-negotiable: We charge $0 on dependant payouts. Not a single dollar.

Every cent of dependant support goes straight to your family. No advocate fees, no percentages taken, and no exceptions.

AVAC Services National Position / WFH / Townsville or Perth Office.

We are veteran-owned and operated, and our focus is simple, getting the right outcome for the veterans we serve. The role is 36 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday, and you can work from home or from the Townsville or Perth offices.

Key responsibilities: Support veterans through DVA claims and CSC matters. Work directly with clients using a trauma-informed,
plain-English approach.

VETERANS UNDERSTAND VETERANS. 🇦🇺

And we do more than just new DVA claims.

At AVAC Services, we support veterans through DVA claims, reviews, appeals, retrospective medical discharges, permanent impairment and complex matters.

We recently received these two reviews from Jodi and Adam.

💬 Jodi said:

“AVAC Services have made a real difference for myself and my family.”

Jodi recognised Kristian, Owner of AVAC Services, and the entire AVAC team for their dedication, diligence and care throughout her claims and retrospective medical discharge.

💬 Adam said:

“Twelve months ago I was an ex-RAN veteran with a wall of unresolved service injuries and no idea how to push back against DVA refusals. AVAC Services changed that.”

He recognised Kristian, Naomi, Helen and Greg for their work across his claims, documentation and appeal.

And importantly, Adam’s review came before we have even reached an outcome.

Because advocacy isn’t just about the result. It’s about having someone who understands your service, listens, works through the detail and stands beside you throughout the journey.

🇦🇺 Celebrating Our Servicewomen

AVAC Services was proud to support the inaugural Servicewomen’s RSL WA Sub-Branch event, celebrating and recognising the incredible women who have served and continue to serve our nation.

The day commenced with a beautiful commemoration, followed by a stunning three-course luncheon in Kings Park, bringing together 160 guests and generations of servicewomen — including special guests aged up to an incredible 102 years young.

We were honoured to sponsor the luncheon and help create an opportunity for servicewomen, veterans, families and supporters to come together, connect and celebrate their service.

Congratulations to the Servicewomen’s RSL WA Sub-Branch on an outstanding first event. We’re proud to support initiatives that recognise the contribution, sacrifice and achievements of our Australian servicewomen.

AVAC Services — proudly supporting our Defence and veteran community. 🇦🇺

We look forward to supporting this wonderful event again next year!
