An accredited advocate should be easily accessible for all ex-service members.

Half of the nation's veteran population sits entirely outside the DVA system. Because these veterans have never engaged with DVA or an advocate, their spouses, partners, and children are automatically missing out on 100% of the family entitlements they could be accessing.

From doctors and specialist referrals to complex paperwork, an Advocate exists to ensure this is easy to manage for every family member, so nothing gets missed.

This pathway can unlock fully funded private and public specialist healthcare for eligible veterans and their families.

AVAC is veteran-owned, for veterans. We exist to simplify the DVA system and help those who’ve served get the support their entire household deserves.

Rachelle from the AVAC Services team is in WA this week attending the Indian Ocean Defence & Security Conference, connecting with industry leaders and continuing important conversations around advocacy and legal support for serving and ex-serving members.

From Townsville to Perth, it’s incredible to see the veteran and defence community come together to share ideas, build partnerships and support those who have served.

Yes, it’s cold. Yes, it was a long flight. But opportunities like this are always worth it! Rachelle said she is proud to represent a company so passionate about supporting the veteran community across Australia. 🇦🇺

Navigating the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) claims process has historically been one of the most significant pain points for Australian veterans.

Ironically, the process of claiming support for a mental health condition often actively worsens a veteran's mental state. According to the 2026 Veteran Wellness Index, the complexity and adversarial feel of the system are so severe that 51% of younger veterans (aged 18–49) report avoiding seeking mental health support altogether because the process is just too hard to navigate. Furthermore, roughly two-thirds of younger veterans report experiencing increased stress or anxiety simply from attempting to access support.

AVAC is veteran owned, for veterans.
We exist to simplify the DVA system and help those who’ve served get the support they deserve.

AVAC were incredibly proud to stand alongside PTSD Resurrected inc as naming partners for their annual charity gala.

Hearing our owner Kristian Lannu speak openly about his lived experiences following medical discharge was both powerful and emotional. Stories like his are exactly why AVAC are so passionate about supporting our veteran community.

Attending with our owners Kristian and Amber McCasker, together with our QLD team — all veterans and veteran spouses united by the same passion for supporting those who have served.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out.

Having a social life or a hobby is huge, and it is not something you should ever be held back from doing.

Issues like tinnitus and social anxiety make social settings and hobbies much harder, if not impossible, for a lot of ex-service members to deal with. These are also issues that often get worse with time and are frequently left unchecked because they were "tolerable" when you first left the service.

Under the new rules, if your condition has worsened by at least 5 points, you can trigger a new PI assessment. If you’ve been "putting up with it" for years and it’s getting harder to manage, now is the time to review your file before the transition to the Single Act model on July 1, 2026.

It is free to fill out an enquiry form.
It is free to book an appointment with a case manager.
Free advice, education and guidance.

Veterans often only claim for their primary injury (e.g., a knee reconstruction), but ignore the "secondary" issues it causes.

More often than not, the effects of an injury carry over to other parts of the body and mind over time. These issues need to be recognised, not ignored.

Knowing which pathways to take makes the difference between simply "putting up with it" and receiving the services you are entitled to.

That is why we exist.
It is free to fill out an enquiry form
It is free to book an appt with case manager
Free advise - education and guidance.
