📣 WE’RE HIRING – FEMALE DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER 📣

You Support Services is looking for a caring, reliable and motivated female Disability Support Worker to join our small and supportive team on a casual basis.

The position will initially offer approximately 5–7 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as our team and participant supports continue to grow.

Due to the preferences and individual support needs of the participants connected with this position, we are specifically seeking a female support worker.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable, respectful and genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability
• Has a positive attitude and can build strong, professional relationships with participants and their families
• Is confident supporting participants with community access, social participation and everyday goals
• Understands the importance of choice, control and person-centred support
• Is able to work independently while also being part of a small, supportive team
• Has good communication skills and takes pride in providing high-quality support

Ideally, applicants will have or be willing to obtain:

✅ NDIS Worker Screening Check
✅ Working With Children Check
✅ First Aid & CPR
✅ Current Driver Licence
✅ Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
✅ Relevant disability/community services experience or qualifications are highly regarded, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important to us

At You Support Services, we pride ourselves on being a small, person-centred team where our participants are treated as individuals, not numbers. We want our support workers to genuinely get to know the people they support, understand their goals and help them get the most out of their supports.

📍 Port Macquarie / Wauchope / Laurieton and surrounding areas

✨ We are excited to introduce Courtenay to the YSS Team! ✨

Courtenay currently has availability for supports, so if you’re looking for a friendly and experienced support worker, we’d love to hear from you! 💙

A little bit about her:

Hi, I’m Courtenay, 36 years old!

I was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia when I was 12, where I now hold dual citizenship.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve built a strong background working closely with families supporting children in a variety of roles. My experience includes working with children in the witness protection program in the UK, supporting children with learning disabilities, volunteering as a teacher’s aide in a primary school in New Zealand, and travelling internationally with a family and their son who is living with a diagnosis of autism.

I’ve also spent time volunteering in South East Asia with animal welfare organisations and special needs orphanages, which has been incredibly rewarding.

I bring a broad range of knowledge and a genuine passion for the care sector. I’m a warm, empathetic, and outgoing person who truly values building meaningful relationships with the people I support.

Outside of work, I love the beach, ice cream on a hot day, going for walks, exploring new places, camping, coffee, travelling, and anything to do with animals 🐾

I’m so excited to be part of the team at You Support Services and look forward to meeting new people and building great connections! 💙

With so much uncertainty following yesterday’s NDIS announcements, we wanted to share this simple, easy to read update to help make things a little clearer.

To all of our participants that we support weekly and daily, please know we’re here for you. If you’re feeling unsure or have any concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always happy to talk things through and support you in any way we can.

As always, when needed, we will continue to provide detailed reports outlining the supports you receive, why they are essential, the progress you’ve made, and the goals you’re working towards we want to continue to ensure you have the strongest evidence possible.
