What many people dont know about these 'coffee' sachets, is they are actually more of an ultra-processed food rather than a coffee
While I dont believe in 'good' or 'bad' foods, its important for us to know what we are consuming. The ingredients in these sachets are primarily sugar with a small amount of instant coffee (5%) and a bunch of additives. These additives include stabilisers, anti-caking agents and emulsifier which over time can harm our gut bacteria and take a toll on our gut health.
Again, these are great every now and then as a treat food, but should be treated as such.
Its always best to use whole ingredients where we can, and as little packed/processed foods as possible.

The condition once known as PCOS has been renamed PMOS. Which is great news regarding understanding and diagnosis!πŸ₯³
The former name PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome, eluded to this being a condition primarily of the ovaries.
While the reproductive system is involved, it is just a small part of the whole picture.
This is actually a METABOLIC disorder, which is now highlighted in its new name: polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome.
PMOS not only affects just the ovaries but also the menstrual cycle, hair growth, insulin resistance, weight issues and even cardiovascular health.
Giving this condition a title better suited as a metabolic disorder will help people with getting a diagnosis.

Before May ends, let's chat Mental Health! The exact reason I got into this field.
Ive had many struggles with mental health through my life. It was when I started prioritising my nutrition that I felt like I finally had some control over it. Don't get me wrong I still have my days, but I have so many tools to help me regulate my nervous system now.
Some of the best things we can do when were feeling down, anxious or overwhelmed
πŸ’š reach out to a friend, or book into a therapist
πŸ’š go for a walk, swim or run
πŸ’š get out in nature, head for the bush or beach
πŸ’š sit in the sun, even in your own backyard
πŸ’š log off social media for the day
πŸ’š make yourself a warm beverage
πŸ’š have a hot shower or Epsom salt bath
πŸ’š put on some of your favourite music
πŸ’š eat something rich in protein or healthy fats
πŸ’š lift some weights
πŸ’š bake something
πŸ’š read a book or watch a good movie

As it gets colder we start to think about upping our vitamin C intake. So that means more oranges right?
Don't get me wrong, oranges are a great source of vitamin C, but there are plenty of other plants rich in it too 😍. Here are just a few ⬇️
- brocolli (90mg/100g)
- red capsicum (142mg/100g)
- kiwifruit (93mg/100g)
- strawberries (60mg/100g)
- parsley (150mg/100g)
- guava (228mg/100g)
Compared to an orange with 53mg/100g

Not all magnesium is the same! πŸ“’
Some common supermarket magnesium can have low bioavailability (meaning you are unable to absorb much of it) and even cause some digestive upset.
These 2 forms of magnesium provide great benefits for brain & mental health: magnesium glycinate & l-threonate.
They are both able to cross the blood-brain barrier, although l-threonate is the most effective at it. Some studies have even suggested it can positively impact alzheimers and dementia.
Magnesium glycinate is highly absorbable form and is a great option for anxiety and sleep.
