WAYNE JACKSON OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

It was a true honour to receive this recognition at the recent Greater Port Macquarie awards.

I love a trophy as much as the next competitive girl, but this one hit differently.

I’ve been nominated for this award four times, and this year I was lucky enough to bring it home. The Wayne Jackson Award was created to honour the legacy of a man who gave deeply to this community. Thank you to his wonderful wife Rebecca for presenting it to me, and for sharing a little of who Wayne was. That moment stayed with me.

This award recognises outstanding commitment to the Port Macquarie-Hastings community, and over the past five years I’ve been fortunate to raise over $260,000 for the people of this town I am proud to call home.

None of it is possible without the love and support of my husband, my family, and my incredible team, who back every single endeavour with their whole hearts.

Thank you to Greater Port Macquarie and the Jackson family for this beautiful recognition.

It means more than words can say.

I think this is one of my favourite dresses to date (and yes I know I say that a lot but I do mean it every time).

Thank you to all the women in the room who sought me out just to tell me I looked like a fairy princess. You made my night! And so did the obvious vibe of women supporting women.

That said, I’ve clearly bought too many dresses off this brand AS THEY JUST BLOCKED ME FROM TAGGING THEM. WHAT!!!!! I guess I won’t be buying any more out of principle!

I guess they don’t want my free marketing?

Gosh the internet is a weird place.

Loves a good HMU transition.

I just want to say thank you to all the kind and supportive women who came up to me at the business awards and complimented me on my dress.

I just felt so much love and support in the room; truly it was women lifting up women. What a wonderful group of people to be associated with. The small business owners of Port are the best.

Congratulations to everyone there on the night, whether you took home a win or not, we all know small business is the backbone of this country.
