Who would believe these gorgeous mushrooms started out as old bottles and a whole lot of creativity?

Our Art Splash group has been hard at work transforming recycled materials into these whimsical paper mâché mushrooms, and the results are absolutely magical. From painting and shaping to adding all the finishing touches, everyone played a part in bringing this enchanting little mushroom garden to life.

Projects like these are a wonderful reminder that art isn't just about the finished piece. It's about imagination, learning new skills, working together, and seeing the potential in everyday items.

A special shout-out to our amazing Art Splash Facilitator, Sandi, whose creativity and passion continue to inspire such fun and unique projects. Sandi is always coming up with wonderful activities that encourage our participants to think outside the box, try new things, and create something truly special.

We think these mushrooms look like they've come straight out of a fairy tale! 🍄💚

One of the best things about our art program is seeing the genuine connections that are built along the way.

Recently, Narelle surprised Sandi with this beautiful framed photo of the two of them together. Narelle had the photo printed and framed herself and gifted it to Sandi as a thank you.

It's hard to put into words how much thoughtful gestures like this mean. What started as art sessions has grown into a friendship built on creativity, encouragement, laughter, and shared experiences.

We often talk about the difference our team makes in the lives of participants, but moments like this remind us that our participants make a difference in our lives too.

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is hearing the feedback that comes through from participants, families, and other professionals.

Comments like "You're a superstar!" and "It's a pleasure working with you" are messages we receive regularly, and they are a reflection of the dedication, compassion, and professionalism our entire team brings to their roles every day.

Whether it's our support workers, support coordinators, administration team, or management staff, every person plays an important part in helping participants achieve their goals and feel supported along the way.

We couldn't be prouder of our team and the positive impact they continue to make in the lives of others. Thank you for the care, commitment, and genuine passion you bring to your work each day.

We recently received some wonderful feedback from a participant following a support shift with one of our support workers, Simone.

The participant shared that they had never felt so comfortable during a support shift, experienced no negative feelings, and felt genuinely cared for and respected throughout their time together. The kindness, compassion, and beautiful way Simone interacted with them made a lasting positive impression.

At SSFY, we believe that quality support is about more than just completing tasks. It's about building trust, creating connections, and ensuring every participant feels valued, comfortable, and empowered.

Sometimes, the most meaningful feedback comes from families who have spent a long time navigating complex support systems.

This week, we received a message from a family member of a new participant who shared their confidence in transitioning their loved one's supports to our team. They spoke about feeling reassured that they now have a proactive team behind them and expressed optimism about the quality of support, coordination, and care that can be provided moving forward.

We know that making the decision to change providers isn't always easy, especially when families have been advocating for the right supports for a long time. Being trusted to step into that journey is a responsibility we never take lightly.

At SSFY, our focus has always been on building genuine relationships, listening to what matters most to participants, and working collaboratively with families and allied professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Some people are simply made for this industry, and Zoe is one of them.

Every single piece of feedback we receive about Zoe is beautiful, and to be honest, we're not surprised. The moment you meet her, she has a way of making you feel like you've known her forever. She makes people feel safe, seen, heard, and supported, always meeting them where they're at.

Recently, we had not one, but two clients reach out after just a single shift with Zoe, specifically requesting that she continue supporting them. The words used to describe her were bright, happy, fun, kind, and thoughtful.

Zoe, thank you for the genuine care, warmth, and positivity you bring to every interaction. The difference you make in the lives of our participants is clear, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our team.

One of the nicest things about working at Support Services For You is bumping into people in the community who recognise where I work. More often than not, the first thing they do is tell me about one of our team members and the positive impact they've had on their life or the life of someone they care about.

Recently, we attended a large meeting where our team was praised for our professionalism and our ability to focus on solutions. Rather than focusing on the challenges, we were recognised for always looking at how we can make things work and how we can achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

What made me especially proud was hearing our support workers commended for their dedication. We have team members who willingly give up their own time to meet with the wider support team around a participant, sharing ideas, discussing strategies and ensuring everyone is on the same page.

They work together to create consistency, following the same routines, responding to challenges in the same way and developing approaches that help participants feel safe, supported and understood. They brainstorm new ideas, find activities participants genuinely enjoy and continually look for ways to improve quality of life.

It's this level of care, commitment and teamwork that makes such a difference.

To our incredible team, thank you. The work you do matters, and the positive things people say about you when you're not in the room speak louder than anything else. 💚

Today we'd like to give a shout out to our amazing Participant Coordinator, Vicky.

Vicky is one of those people who always puts others first. Her passion for her role and the people she supports shines through every day.

The other day she was on her lunch break when someone came into the office needing help. Without a second thought, she got up and assisted them. To be honest, that's just Vicky. Whether it's a participant, a family member or a colleague, she's always happy to lend a hand.

We're incredibly lucky to have someone so dedicated, caring and committed on our team.

Recently, a lovely mum came into the office and recognised us from both our social media and through our local school community.

She took the time to tell us how much my girls have meant to her daughter, who finds social situations challenging. She shared how they made her feel safe, included, and supported when she needed it most.

As a parent, there is no greater compliment than hearing that your children are showing kindness, empathy, and inclusion when no one is watching.

To know that they have made such a positive difference in another child's life filled my heart with pride and gratitude. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact. 💚
