RSV is a highly contagious virus, that causes lung and airway infections. It spreads through tiny droplets released when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes. Being in close contact with someone who has RSV increases the likelihood of you getting the virus.

You are usually infectious (can pass on the virus) for up to 8 days from when your symptoms begin. RSV is very contagious. The virus can live on surfaces for several hours or your unwashed hands for 30 to 60 minutes.

It can be difficult to stop the spread of RSV. Practising handwashing and good hygiene can help to avoid passing the virus onto others.

Symptoms of RSV include fever, congestion, coughing, decrease in appetite, sneezing and wheezing. This may lead to serious lung disease (eg. pneumonia)

How the nasal spray flu vaccine works:

The nasal spray flu vaccine protects against influenza.

It is given as a quick, painless spray into the nose - one spray is given into each nostril.
It is absorbed quickly in the nose, so even if the child sneezes afterwards, it still works.
It contains small amounts of weakened influenza viruses that help the body learn how to fight the real virus. It builds protection by mimicking a natural infection to stimulate the body's immune response.
It trains the immune system to recognise and fight the influenza virus. It does not cause or spread influenza.
It works just as well as the flu vaccine injection.
It takes about two weeks after getting it for full protection to develop.

⛑️ First Aid for Seizure

If someone near you has a seizure:
✅Try to stay calm
✅Stay with the person
✅Make sure they’re safe by moving any hard objects away (like chairs or tables)
✅Put something soft under their head (like your bag or jumper)
✅Ask someone to quickly get an adult
❌Don’t put anything in their mouth
❌Don’t try to stop their body from moving

Most important things to remember if a seizure happens:
1️⃣ Stay with the person
2️⃣Keep them safe
3️⃣Get an adult
