Good news!!!

Portland Pharmacy is back open and operating as normal today following yesterday’s power outage.

We’re ready to help with prescriptions, medications and all your usual pharmacy needs.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding yesterday. We really appreciate the support of our wonderful Portland community.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE

Unfortunately, we’ve now been advised that power is not expected to be restored until later today.

Without electricity, phones, internet or access to our computer systems, we are unable to safely dispense prescriptions and are extremely limited in the services we can provide.

After holding out as long as we could, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close Portland Pharmacy for the remainder of today.

We know how much our community relies on us, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, particularly to anyone who was planning to collect medication today.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we deal with circumstances completely outside our control.

We hope to be back up and running as normal tomorrow (with electricity, computers, phones and a newfound appreciation for all three!)

Thanks to the current electricity outage, we’re experiencing a little forced digital detox. 😅

💻 No computers
🌐 No internet
⚡ And, of course… no electricity!

So if you’ve been trying to call us, we promise we’re not ignoring you, technology has simply abandoned us for the morning.

We’ve been advised that power is expected to be restored at around 12:30pm.

We’ll touch base with everyone again at 12:30pm with an update.

Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant Portland Pharmacy

We are a busy and supportive community pharmacy in Portland, looking for a reliable and friendly Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team environment and is looking for stable part-time hours in a positive workplace.
About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position with guaranteed minimum weekly hours and the opportunity for additional shifts when covering leave or assisting during busy periods.
Regular roster:
• Monday: 9am–5pm
• Tuesday: 9am–1pm
• Thursday: 9am–1pm
• Friday: 1pm to 5pm
• With the possibility of alternating Saturdays.

Additional hours may also be available from time to time, so some flexibility is appreciated.

Duties May Include
• Supporting Webster packing/medication packing services
• Serving customers and assisting with front-of-shop enquiries
• Assisting with stock management and ordering
• General pharmacy administration and workflow support
• Supporting pharmacists and the wider team in day-to-day operations

About You

We are looking for someone who:
• Is reliable, organised and proactive
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Has excellent customer service skills
• Works well within a team
• Is flexible and willing to learn different areas of pharmacy operations

As another year comes to a close, we just want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and supporting a small local pharmacy in our beautiful town. Whether you’ve popped in for a script, advice, a chat, or just a last-minute something you forgot (again), your loyalty truly means the world to our entire team. We are so grateful to be part of your families, your routines, and your health journeys.
Now… onto the New Year!
We wish you a 2026 filled with good health, fewer trips to the pharmacy (unless it’s for something fun), and absolutely no lost scripts, expired repeats, or “I’ll just wait and see if it gets better” moments. May your alarms go off on time, your medications be taken as prescribed, your sunscreen actually get used, and your hangovers be mild and short-lived.
