The number one question we get asked before almost every piercing?

“How bad does it hurt?”

And the honest answer?

Yeah… they all hurt. 😂

A needle is still going through your body, babe. We can’t exactly sell that part as a relaxing spa treatment.

Some are a tiny little pinch.
Some are spicy.
Some are a quick “OH F*CK” and then it’s over.
And some have you sitting there afterwards rethinking every decision that led you to voluntarily paying us to stab you.

Which is exactly why our motto is:

PAIN, BUT MAKE IT PRETTY.

The good news is the actual piercing itself is usually over ridiculously fast, and 99% of the time the build-up in your head is way worse than the few seconds it takes to actually do it.

Then you look in the mirror, see the shiny new addition and suddenly we’re forgiven. ✨

BUTTTT… here’s where we need your help.

We’re currently putting together our very own Pricked & Polished Co. Piercing Pain Scale, based on the piercings we actually perform in studio.

🖤⛓️ Little Life Update⛓️🖤

As most of our beautiful clients already know, our little family is about to grow again. 🍼🖤

As exciting as this next chapter is, it also means it’s almost time for me to slow down, enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy and get ready to welcome our newest little girl.

Our last day for NEW piercing appointments will be…🥁…🥁 … FRIDAY 28th AUGUST 2026.

If you’ve been thinking about getting pierced, this is your sign! Make sure you get your booking in before I officially close the books for a little while.

Don’t stress though. Existing clients will still be able to book limited appointments for downsizes, jewellery changes and healing reviews while I’m on maternity leave. I couldn’t leave you all hanging. 🤍

This definitely isn’t goodbye…

While I’ll be busy soaking up newborn cuddles, I’ve also been quietly working away behind the scenes on something I’m so excited to share with you all.

I’m keeping my lips sealed for now… but trust me, it’ll be worth the wait. 👀

For those that are waiting on a reschedule due to me being unwell this last month I’ll be flicking you a message today/tomorrow to sort out some dates!

To every single person who’s supported Pricked & Polished since opening, thank you. Whether you’ve trusted me with your very first piercing, your tenth ear curation, recommended me to a friend, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines, you’ve helped turn a dream into something I genuinely love waking up to every day.

Now it’s time for us to swap needles for nappies… at least for a little while. 🖤
