Sometimes self care looks like this… after 22 years of body work these hands need a little bit of love on a regular basis.

Myths about cupping….. it does not by way of mechanics ‘pull toxins’ out of your tissues. What it does do is draw up the tissues underneath and create a suction field that encourages bodily fluids like blood, lymph and extracellular fluids to pool in the area. The mechanics encourage the tissues to relax and tension to disperse. If you are left with a temporary bruise after cupping, it’s exactly that…. A bruise with a cool back story.

Sometimes clinics days look like this chaos… when all the IT fails and suddenly you have to up-skill into computing to get it done. You can log a ticket with me if you need a dodgy work around for failing hardware 🤣🤌

Did you know that we treat all ages?? Working together with families throughout life helps to promote positive lifelong habits and support growing and changing bodies. This lovely young man played his heart out in sport last weekend and had a few little injuries that needed some attention.

Prepping for days…. Each treatment takes time and preparation. Making cones and rice grain moxa to help soothe away all of your aches and pains. How long has it been since your last treatment? Acupuncture is great not only for acute conditions but also general health and wellbeing.

Me on my way to tell my patients to stop doing the thing that is hurting them 💅😂
We are often participating with our bodies in ways that create pain and discomfort: through the healing process we need to modify or take a break from these activities and focus on rehabilitation so that we can safely return to the activities we love.

Let’s talk maintenance! When the body has an increased load demand, is under extra physical or emotional stress or you live life at full speed, creating a maintenance plan that helps to keep you on track can be beneficial. Regular appointments can help to keep the body pain free and operational at its peak or even may just be part of your individual health goals.

Are you feeling tired and sluggish? It could be all of those supplements you’re taking!
Your liver performs over 500 vital functions every day, acting as your body’s quiet chemical processing plant. When we take the same supplements, medications, or even “natural” compounds long term, we can unintentionally overload the same detox pathways. Over time, this can contribute to a sluggish liver, leaving you feeling fatigued, foggy, and flat. Self prescribing, poly pharmacy and long term use may be part of your symptomatic picture… asking your pharmacist for a medications review, speaking to your care team about ALL of your intake natural or otherwise can be a vital piece of the health puzzle.
