Does safe and effective healthcare matter to you? We want to hear from you!

Ahpra and the National Boards are consulting on proposed changes to the recency of practice and continuing professional development registration standards.

These standards exist to make sure that the practitioners that you rely on for safe and effective healthcare have practised in their profession recently and continue to develop their knowledge and skills throughout their career.

Your feedback will help make sure the standards support safe healthcare.

Practitioners should consider whether telehealth is appropriate for each patient, while continuing to meet the same standard of care expected for in-person consultations.

Most dentists follow high professional and ethical standards and will recommend treatment based on clinical need, not financial gain.

But if something feels off, or you have doubts about using your superannuation to pay for treatment, talk to a trusted family member, friend, carer, or financial counsellor.

Remember, you can stop the process at any time before applying.
