A huge thank you to Brittany Coles, HANCA Ambassador and Channel Nine journalist, for her incredible support in amplifying awareness of Head and Neck Cancer and helping build momentum for the Songs Of John Farnham Celebration Concert 💙

Brittany continues to use her platform to share HANCA’s message and courageously telling her own personal story about her family's experience with Head and Neck Cancer to help others better understand the impact of this disease.

Brittany said, 'I am so connected to the cause and wanted to give this absolutely everything I had. I took the lead on pitching this across the network and worked around the clock to ensure it received the prime-time, national spotlight it deserves.'

We’re also so grateful to the wider Nine team who helped bring these important stories to life, thank you Stephanie Anderson and Isabelle for your support in raising awareness where it matters most.

Head and Neck Cancer isn’t often in the national spotlight—but it was on Friday!

We were incredibly honoured to represent the community at the launch of The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend – The Celebration Concert — a one-night-only event at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday 20 September.

John Farnham’s openness about his experience with oral cancer over the past few years has had a profound impact. By sharing his story, he has helped raise the voices of thousands of Australians living with Head and Neck Cancer and brought a deeper understanding of head and neck cancer into the public conversation.

With more than 120 artists on stage, including a 38-piece orchestra, choir and the John Farnham Band, this will be an extraordinary night. We’re truly honoured that John and his family have chosen Head and Neck Cancer Australia as the charity beneficiary.

The concert also coincides with HANCA’s 10-year anniversary. We’re incredibly grateful that funds raised will support our work into the next decade—raising awareness, supporting patients, and advocating for care beyond treatment, helping people put the pieces of their lives back together and achieve the best possible quality of life.

And for that, we say thank you — to John and his family, to Gaynor Wheatley, Paul Dainty AO, Tony Cochrane AM and the Victorian Government, to every artist who has given their time, and to every person who chooses to be part of this night by buying a ticket on 2 June. It truly means more than you know.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketek on Tuesday 2 June at 10am. Be reminded first: https://arep.co/m/john-farnham

Thank you to our incredible community fundraisers who helped raise awareness for HANCA at last Sunday’s HBF Run for a Reason in Perth. Each participant has a personal connection to Head and Neck Cancer, either through their own experience or that of a loved one, and we’re so grateful to Richard, Catherine (Cat), Marissa, Mark, Jenny and Erin for raising an amazing $5,687 for HANCA.

Pictured are Richard and his daughter Cat. In 2024, Cat and her friends took part in the same event for HANCA, forming the team ‘Richard’s Entourage’ in honour of her dad while he was undergoing treatment for Head and Neck Cancer. We were absolutely thrilled to hear that Richard was well enough to return and run this year alongside Cat. Together, they raised $2,640.
