Your spine isn’t the only thing chiropractors assess 👀

Wrist feeling stiff, sore or just not moving the way it normally does?

With 8 small carpal bones working together, there’s a lot happening in a pretty small area. Whether you’re lifting weights, working at a desk, playing sport or spending way too much time on your phone, your wrists can take a LOT of load.

Depending on what we find during an assessment, treatment may include wrist mobilisation or adjustments, soft tissue work, dry needling, taping and rehab exercises🤌🏼

Because sometimes the wrist needs a little attention too

Pregnant? These are the movements I’d want you practising long before labour🤰🏼🤍

As you get closer to meeting your little one, gentle movement can be a great way to keep your body moving, explore comfortable positions and build confidence in the positions you may use throughout labour.

These are some of my favourite birth + labour prep exercises I share with expecting mums ✨

Think:
🤍 Pelvic mobility
🤍 Hip mobility
🤍 Different labour positions
🤍 Gentle movement and breathing
🤍 Getting comfortable moving through different ranges

Every pregnancy and birth is different, so these exercises aren’t about guaranteeing an “easier” labour. They’re about giving you more movement options and helping you feel prepared for the big day. And can also be used DURING labour. How amazing!?

Save this one for your third trimester or send it to a mama-to-be 🤰🏼✨

Cranial work is something so many people don’t expect from chiropractic care 🤍

Cranial techniques involve gentle, precise contacts around the skull, jaw, temples and base of the skull, and may be incorporated into care when addressing musculoskeletal tension in these areas.

For little ones, these gentle techniques may form part of their care where clinically appropriate, particularly when we identify areas of muscular or joint tension around the head, neck or jaw.

For adults, cranial techniques may also be incorporated alongside care for musculoskeletal concerns involving the jaw, head and neck ✨

It’s a subtle and gentle technique that can be incorporated into an individualised treatment plan.

Spend the day with me… but make it paediatric chiro edition 👶🏼🧠📚

A Saturday and Sunday out of the clinic learning more about paediatric neurodevelopment, primitive reflexes, new techniques and much more.

One of my favourite parts of being a chiropractor is that the learning never really stops. I love to keep expanding my knowledge and refining the way I assess, understand and care for you all. Science and evidence is forever changing!

Because working with little bodies isn’t just about treating them like tiny adults. Their nervous systems are developing, their movement patterns are changing constantly, and their care needs to reflect that.

A little BTS of what my “days off” sometimes look like 🤍

🤰🏽Pregnant? The way you get up matters more than you think.

As your belly grows, getting straight up from lying on your back can become uncomfortable and put extra strain through your abdominal wall, pelvis and lower back.

Try the “log roll” technique instead 👇

✨ Bend your legs and roll onto your side
✨ Let your legs come off the bed
✨ Use your arms to push yourself up
✨ Keep your trunk moving as one unit rather than doing a big sit-up

It’s a simple change that can make getting out of bed feel much more comfortable, especially as you move through the later stages of pregnancy.

Chiropractors need chiropractors too🦴🤲🏻

People are always surprised when they see me on the table, but the reality is that I spend my days adjusting, bending, lifting, treating patients, and standing for hours at a time. I see my chiro every 2 weeks!

Just like anyone else, my body needs looking after too.

One of the biggest things I believe in is practising what I preach. If I’m asking my patients to prioritise their health, I should be doing the same.

I’m so grateful to have Dr. Jia in the clinic, not only because she’s an incredible chiropractor, but because I trust her with my own care.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t help others at your best if you don’t look after yourself first💚

Who looks after the chiropractor? Now you know😉

MEET DR. JIA!!👩🏻‍⚕️🦴

A little milestone for The Wellness Mecca🤍

As The Wellness Mecca has grown, I always knew there would come a time when I’d bring another chiropractor into the clinic. But I also knew it had to be the right person. Someone who genuinely cares, puts patients first, shares the values this clinic was built on, and is just as passionate about helping people live healthier lives.

From the very first conversation I had with Dr Jia, I knew she was that person💚

With over 6 years of experience practising across Australia and China, Dr Jia has cared for everyone from newborns and growing families to athletes, office workers and older adults. She has a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum care, paediatric and family chiropractic, rehabilitation, scoliosis management and nervous system health, and is Webster Technique Certified for pregnancy with advanced training in the Schroth Scoliosis Method.

What I admire most is the way she approaches care. Every treatment is thoughtful, individualised, and centred around helping people get back to doing what they love.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find her with a coffee in hand, searching for the best sushi, getting lost in a good book, travelling and chasing sunrises and sunsets. She has lived in Malaysia, Australia and China, and speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay, allowing her to care for patients from many different cultural backgrounds.

Welcoming our very first associate is such a special moment for me, and I truly couldn’t think of a better person to join this journey.

Please help me give Dr Jia the warmest welcome to The Wellness Mecca. We can’t wait for you to meet her🤍✨

Not every disc issue needs surgery, and not every episode of back pain comes from a disc at all.

Many people with disc bulges or herniations are able to return to work, exercise, and daily life with the right assessment, a personalised plan, and time ⏳

Every spine is different, that’s why a thorough examination matters before any plan is made. Depending on your presentation, this might include adjustments, soft tissue therapies, rehab exercises, movement advice, and guidance on staying active safely 🤍

Been told you have a disc bulge and not sure what it means? Imaging doesn’t always match symptoms and function, the right approach depends on you as an individual.

Please note that this treatment was not just for a disc problem.

Not every adjustment needs to be loud to be effective🤍

The occipital lift is one of the techniques I use in clinic. It focuses on the base of the skull, where the head meets the neck, with the aim of improving movement and reducing tension in the surrounding tissues.

For some people, this technique may help reduce neck tension and can form part of a management plan for headaches and migraines, where clinically appropriate. Every patient is thoroughly assessed first, and treatment is always tailored to the individual.

Turn the volume up and enjoy today’s ASMR. 🎧✨

Have you ever had an occipital lift before? 👇

You know the feeling…

You wake up, turn your head, and suddenly your neck says “nope.” 😅

A stiff neck can happen after sleeping in an awkward position, a big week at work, stress, long hours at a desk, or simply waking up a little less mobile than the day before.

The goal of your appointment is to assess what’s contributing to the stiffness, improve how the area moves, reduce muscle tension where appropriate, and help you get back to moving more comfortably.

If you’ve woken up with a stiff neck that isn’t settling, don’t just push through it. Getting it assessed early may help stop it from becoming something that hangs around.
