Australia's annual inflation rate sits at 4.2% for the 12 months to April 2026.

The Fair Work Commission announced a 4.75% wage increase for millions of Australian workers, with the very lowest-paid minimum wage earners receiving a larger 6% pay boost. These increases are set to take effect from 1 July 2026.

So technically 0.55% raise.. how generous.

Plus more Tax for the govt.

This is a joke right?

(Sorry long one)

NDIS update (today’s announcement).

we’re here with you!❤️

Hey everyone, you might’ve seen the news today from Health Minister Mark Butler about proposed changes to the NDIS.

In simple terms, the government is talking about moving toward eligibility being based more on functional capacity assessments (how someone is impacted day to day), not just diagnosis.

They also flagged a plan slow the growth and cost of the scheme over time, with modelling suggesting many people could be moved off the NDIS in the coming years and directed to state and territory “foundational supports” instead.

There was also mention of tighter rules around some supports (including community participation) and more provider registration requirements.

I know reading that can bring up a lot of fear and uncertainty, especially if you’re already doing it tough. If you’re a participant, family member, or part of someone’s support network, please hear this clearly.

You are not alone, and we will walk through this with you.!!

Nothing changes overnight, and there are still details to be confirmed. But we’re paying close attention, and we’ll keep sharing updates as we learn more.

If you’re worried about your plan, a review coming up, or what this could mean for you, please reach out. We can talk it through calmly and make a plan together.

Hello Folks Its been a while. I just wanted to let you all know we are still here and going strong!

(sorry a bit long)...

Tonight I’m doing something different. Instead of the usual posts, I want to start a conversation about the NDIS Practice Standards.
These standards are meant to protect what matters most people’s rights, choice, and control. This is what registered providers must

The first part of the Core Module is: 1. Rights and Responsibilities.

Person-centred supports.
In simple terms, it’s about making sure every participant has their legal and human rights respected in everyday practice, Gets communication in a way that makes sense for them (language, format, pace, and style), Is supported to stay connected with their support network and community, in the way they choose!

I’d love your input:

What does “choice and control” look like for you (or someone you support)?

What’s one thing providers/ independents do that really helps you feel respected and heard?

What do you wish more people understood about participant rights?

If you’re comfortable, share below in the comments.

If i'm feeling up to it tomrrow ill make a post about the next section of the first standard (Rights and Responsibilities):
Individual values and beliefs.

Quick note: These NDIS Practice Standards aren’t optional. Registered providers must be able to prove we meet them during audits. If our service delivery isn’t aligned with the standards, we can lose our registration. This is one of the key ways the NDIS helps ensure people receive safe, respectful, quality supports.
