What a week for the DC crew! ❤️

Last week we headed off on a little trip to the Hologram Zoo in Nambour, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. We got to learn about the underwater world and see some pretty cool things along the way. It’s always great getting out and about and experiencing new places together.

Our pub of the week was a good old local favourite, The Ambassador on the waterfront. The food was definitely on point! 🤤 We had a good feed, plenty of laughs and enjoyed a nice lunch together.

Back at Dovecote we kept busy with a bit of everything. We did some painting, got stuck into some cooking 👩‍🍳 and of course had plenty of music and good vibes happening.

It’s not always about the big outings either. Sometimes it’s the simple things, having a go at something new, getting creative, helping out in the kitchen, listening to music, having a laugh and spending time together that make for a good day.

And with the weather starting to warm up, we’ve also been having a chat about health and hygiene. As the days get warmer, it’s even more important to make sure we’re showering regularly, wearing clean clothes, using deodorant, washing our hands and generally looking after ourselves. Not only does it help keep us healthy, but it helps us feel fresh, comfortable and confident too. 😊

We’ve eaten out and filled our bellies, gotten our creative juices flowing and made costumes and props, baked and cooked up a storm.

We’ve made messes, cleaned messes and then probably made a few more! 😂

There’s been plenty of laughs, creativity and teamwork happening.

Been learning the importance of health & hygiene and how to help control the spread of germs 🦠 and we’ve been working on our toastie making skills 😀

We celebrate birthdays, playing party games singing and dancing. Cashed out cans in and made waffles for breakfast 🧇 🤤

What a beautiful day to spend outdoors! ☀️🏀🌊

Spending the morning enjoying the fresh air, beautiful ocean views, warm sun, and playing a game of basketball together. Sometimes it’s the simple things—getting out into the community, sharing conversations, cheering on a game, and enjoying each other’s company—that create the best memories.

Days like these are all about building confidence, encouraging social connections, and making the most of what our community has to offer.

🚆 What a fantastic day out!

Last week our crew took on public transport, travelling by train while building confidence and learning valuable independent living skills.

There were plenty of smiles, laughs, and new experiences along the way as we practised reading timetables, finding the right platforms, and travelling safely together.

Every outing is another step towards greater independence, confidence, and community participation.

We’re so proud of everyone for giving it a go and making the most of the adventure. We can’t wait to see where our next journey takes us! 💙🌟
