You’ve blamed your gut. Stress. Motherhood. And still the fog won’t lift.

Here’s what often gets missed: brain fog isn’t always a simple “you’re run down” problem. Often it’s inflammation, and often that inflammation traces back to mould exposure, including a pattern called CIRS.

You can’t find that if you only look in the obvious places. That’s why we run a comprehensive assessment, so an inflammatory driver like mould doesn’t get explained away as just tiredness.

If the fog has gone on too long, book your assessment via the link in bio.

Yesterday was Global Day of Parents. We missed it. Too busy actually parenting 🙈😂

“I’ve been tired since I had my first.”

We hear it almost every week. You say it like an apology, like it’s just the price of being a mum.

I’m a mum too. A toddler and an 10-year-old. Motherhood can be exhausting sometimes- and I won’t pretend otherwise. But being tired for a hard week is not the same as being depleted for five, eight, ten years.

Somewhere along the way it stopped being a symptom and became your normal. And because you’re the one holding everyone else together, you put yourself last. You book everyone else in and leave your own name off the list.

Exhaustion that’s lasted years isn’t something you have to accept just because you’ve gotten used to it. It’s worth looking at properly.

If you’ve been telling yourself this is just what motherhood feels like, save this for the day you’re ready to stop accepting it.

Blaming your fatigue on perimenopause?! It’s a common symptom in the peri- phase of life but usually it’s not just your hormones. It’s a sign something deeper is going on. If you relate to any of these signs - Book with Merge Health’s Women’s Health Expert Samantha Van Dort to uncover and resolve where your fatigue is really coming from.

The people who find us are usually tired of being told there’s nothing wrong.

Chronic fatigue. Anxiety that won’t settle. MCAS. Mould. Infections that linger. Perimenopause that nobody prepared them for.

So here’s what May looked like behind the scenes. Kate and Steph travelling to bring back the latest in functional and integrative medicine for our patients. Team dinners & going over cases that ran long. In-person clinic days with Dr Tania and Sarah.

What stood out across the month was connection. Time with experts who sharpen how we practise. Time as a team, in the same room instead of on a call. And time with patients, including so many living with the trifecta of EDS, MCAS and POTS, often after years of being told it was all in their head.

This is the work. Online and in person, doing whatever it takes to give people real answers.

If that’s you, we see you. Link in bio.

Free check-in calls and wellness coaching, booked around your schedule. That's one piece of how we support you. Here's the rest:

When you're fatigued or brain fogged, even a good treatment plan can slip through the cracks. Which supplement first. What the practitioner said. When to follow up. It's not a memory problem. It's what happens when you're unwell and trying to hold it all yourself.

So we built the support around you, not just the plan.

Every appointment, your Visit Summary lands in your Charm Patient Portal, your notes and instructions always there to refer back to. The whole treatment plan sits in one place, on your phone or tablet. Questions that pop up between appointments go straight to your health coach through the portal, whenever they come to you. And Sarah, who looks after patient experience and coaching, is on the phone 11:30 to 1:30 every weekday if you'd rather talk it through.

This is what we mean by support. Not more to manage, less.
New to Merge Health and want care that holds you between appointments, not just during them? Book a Welcome Appointment via the link in bio.

We were too sick to work. Now we’ve treated thousands.

Sixteen years ago a lecturer paired two strangers together in a student clinic. That’s how we met. We were both there because we’d been patients first. Steph spent ten years with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, told over and over that her bloods were normal. Kate spent years with illness no one could name before being diagnosed with three autoimmune conditions at once. We both knew what it felt like to be lost in a system that couldn’t help us.

Put together by chance, something worked. Our patients started getting better, and word spread so fast our lecturers had to move people off us and onto other students. We were completely inundated.

We knew then we weren’t doing this apart.

So we built the clinic we’d needed back when we were unwell. Fifteen years and thousands of patients later, it’s still the two of us at the heart of it. A small business, run by two women who have been exactly where you are.

If you’ve been looking for care that actually sees you, come and find us. Link in bio.

“I just don’t feel like myself anymore, even on hormone support.”
This is one of the most common things we hear from women in their 40s. And it makes sense once you understand what’s actually happening.
Perimenopause isn’t only a hormone story. Newer research is reframing it as a neuroendocrine-microbiome transition. Your brain, hormones and gut are shifting together.
Oestrogen directly influences serotonin, dopamine and GABA. Your gut microbiome helps regulate oestrogen back the other way, via the estrobolome. So when the microbiome shifts, anxiety, mood, sleep and stress tolerance can all change with it.
This is why hormone support alone often doesn’t get you back to feeling like you. You have to look at the whole system.
Swipe through for what the research is showing and where Sam starts with women in clinic.

You’ve done the bloods. Cleaned up your sleep. Cut the wine. Tried the magnesium spray.
And you’re still wiped out.
Standard pathology shows what’s circulating in your blood right now. It doesn’t show what’s happening at a cellular level — which is where most chronic fatigue lives.
Three minerals worth looking at:
→ Magnesium — cellular energy production
→ Iodine — thyroid fuel
→ Selenium — thyroid activator
In-clinic heavy metal & mineral testing with Sarah on the 27th and 28th of May. If you haven’t checked your mineral or heavy metal levels in the past 3-6 months it’s time!
