United Disability Care Originally the company was called Accommodation Network, then later ACCNet21.

Our mission at UDC is to support people with disability to love their life and live their dreams, by achieving their goals and connecting with their communities in meaningful ways. United Disability Care was founded in 1993 by a lovely lady named Deb Stewart who wanted to provide support services to people with a disability in their own home. Its operation was focused on the rural NSW regions north and north-west of Sydney, with its corporate support services and executive team offices in Tweed Heads and Ocean Shores, near the Queensland border. We provide supports in Southern QLD, Northern NSW and Mid-North Coast

💙 One Foot Forward for mental health

This October, UDC is taking part in One Foot Forward, a month-long walk to raise awareness and funds for mental health research.

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

The funds raised through One Foot Forward support Black Dog Institute and their work to develop new mental health treatments, education and digital services for people who need them.

Mental health affects individuals, families and communities, and supporting research and better access to mental health support is something we can all play a part in.

This National Amputee Awareness Week, we’re sharing Mick’s story.

NDIS changes from 1 October 2026

There are two important changes happening from 1 October that participants, families and providers should be aware of.

1️⃣Funding changes

Some participants will see changes to their Social, Economic and Community Participation and Improved Daily Living Skills budgets as plans are created, reassessed or renewed.

This does not mean everyone's funding will automatically be reduced. The impact will be different for each participant and will depend on their individual circumstances and assessed support needs.

For some people, this may mean changes to the amount of funding or level of support they receive, including changes to support ratios where the NDIA determines that a different level of support is appropriate.

2️⃣Provider registration

From 1 October, SIL and NDIS digital platform providers must be registered or have applied for registration.

✅The good news: UDC is already a registered NDIS provider.

Dale recently returned to Toowoomba, a town that holds a special place in his heart, made possible by UDC's Register Your Dream campaign.

Having lived there for a time and built lasting friendships, Toowoomba is full of memories for Dale. The chance to head back, catch up with old friends, and revisit some familiar places made for a very special time away.

💙 Great people, great conversations and great ideas.

Last week, our Service Leaders travelled from across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia to the Gold Coast for UDC's annual Service Delivery Conference. It's a chance to step away from the day-to-day, connect with colleagues, share experiences and explore new ideas that help us deliver the best possible support to the people we work alongside.

Over a few days, there was plenty of learning, collaboration, networking and laughter, with everyone bringing valuable insights to the table.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the conference such a success, and to Mercure Gold Coast Resort for hosting us. We can't wait to turn these conversations into action and continue making a positive difference in the lives of the people we support. ✨

It's the International Day of Sign Languages! 🤟💙

Today is a chance to celebrate linguistic and cultural diversity, and recognise the importance of inclusion and accessible communication for all.

Around the world, more than 70 million deaf people communicate using over 300 different sign languages.

In Australia, people use Auslan (Australian Sign Language). Auslan is a rich visual language with its own grammar and structure, distinct from English.
