📣 Massive shoutout to young Tristan on starting his Cert I in Construction👷

I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow over the last couple of years, and now seeing him take this next step is EPIC. He has the most playful personality and sense of humour, is kind hearted, obsessed with hockey, incredibly resourceful, has the strength of 10 men and is also an emergency services cadet and volunteer.

One of the coolest aspects of this work is getting to be a part of everyone’s individual journey — watching confidence build, skills develop, and milestones like this happen in real time is pretty special. To the tallest 15 year old I’ve ever known…I’m proud of you Tee 👊🏾 I know you’ll be the biggest (no pun intended) asset to any team 💪🏾

Honey dippers incoming…

The difference in confidence between sessions has been really cool to see! Killed it this week ladies 💪🏾 .johnson270320

A huge shout out to our very own woodworking prodigy, Xavier, for taking out the 2026 Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize in the “tiny treasures” category. The level of skill involved in this winning piece is absolutely ridiculous 🔥 Congrats again Xav…proud of you mate

APRIL RECAP!

Another big month in the workshop…lots in progress!

Suze worked on a mini wheelbarrow refurb and bucket dolly, Tee took on a medieval shield, and Faith, Hayden, Jordan and Kylie spent time on birdhouses. Allen made coasters, and Jem continued carving his fruit bowl.

Suze and Sarah kept building their woodturning skills, while Cooper explored plywood lamination (with a bit of boxing on the side). Brock progressed his outdoor bar, Stu worked on his Tardis build, and Liam moved forward with a bedhead order and learned how to store long ratchet straps properly.

Corey, Wes and Brad spent time on planter and furniture builds, Connor worked on a ring box, Deegs on bedside tables, and Owen on a dice tower and storage. Remy took on a TV unit refurb with a side of boxing, and James worked on toy boats.

As always, if you need something made, repaired, or refurbished, we might be able to help. 100% of proceeds go directly to our participants…and you’d be helping create more learning opportunities for the crew.

Last few projects with big James…some toys for his nephews 🙌🏾

Priceless moments in the workshop 🙏🏾

Big Deegs struggles with writing so we make sure he gets as much practice as possible. In this particular workshop, we formed outlines of numbers with dots so he could familiarise himself with the shapes of those numbers. He never gets frustrated and just has a way of turning everything into an opportunity for laughter. Among many amazing qualities, he has the kindest heart and the most infectious personality!
